Perfect. Your video is just what I want. I must have gone through at least 10 videos on building sawhorses and after listening to and viewing angles and bevels, mortises and tenons, gussets and multiple size dimensions of lumber, decided it would be simpler to go to Home Depot and buy the metal sawhorse brackets. But the metal brackets there were flimsy made in China brackets so I left the store empty handed. Now, happily, I found your video using just 2 x 4 lumber, and making very solid looking sawhorses, where I don't have to make a project out of making sawhorses.

I made a pair yesterday and put them to work immediately. It was an easy project for a strong, durable tool. Thanks for the video.

Hello Maesteo. Thanks for the comment. I don't put angles on the feet anymore because it leaves a knife edge which allows for a better base if the floor is off level. When I use to cut the angle, I would attach the legs, place on a flat surface the sawhorse, and then put a flat 1 by 4 at the base of the leg and mark my angle manually per leg in case one of the legs was slightly off angle at the attachment point. Then cut. This would prevent a wobbly horse. Hope this makes sense. Gene:)

Good stuff. Did you consider an angle at the bottom of the legs?

Using screws is MUCH easier than nails, especially for the 3rd and 4th leg.

Old school tools too. Have you priced a new cordless lately? 😂 That saw horse may last just as long. Maybe?

From a structural point of view these are very poor designs, a lot of wood doing nothing, basically all the weight is on 2 screws, maybe 4 at best, hope these screws hold, fast is not always best, as in this case

Not so fast...these ubiquitous saw horses were almost on every framing job I saw in the 70's and 80's and were used for everything and tossed at the end of the job. Fast and strong and the 1st thing made! As far as weight, they would hold up all kinds of things with no problem. One example is a stack of 2x4's about the size of a normal banded pallet of them. They would be stacked with one end butting a concrete wall for referencing and the other end was batch crosscut for a pre-cut length. The only difference was they were put together with a framing nailer instead of being screwed together.
