I made a pair of my own waxed cotton pants, based off of your original video. I used bison hide for my knee patches. I have found them to be extraordinary bush pants! I made a tin coat as well. I learn much from you! Thanks for the great video. 😊

I sometimes loop back to previous stich to knot each one.

Many talents and very handy to be able to use them. Most wouldn't take the time or go to the trouble to repair but simply buy new. Nice to see someone actually intent on using a product beyond it's normal life span. Good job sir, enjoy for a few more years in the great outdoors.

I like how you hand stitch everything. I do that as well. Everyone is in such a rush to use machines, I think quality is sacrificed. I actually like to sew.

I watched my mom use a needle and thread and hit has come in handy throughout my life. Especially camping

Your hand stitching is really good. I started to use old braided line that I remove from my fishing reels ( 30lb) to repair tears on my camping gear/ clothes, that stuff is pretty tough, most fisherman just throw it away.

Yes! That's the same way I was taught by my mom 60 years ago! Except we didn't have dental floss around then! I discovered using floss 15 years ago and that was a game changer!

Crusty squatters in the 90s used to do patchwork with dental floss. ; ) I still use it.

Very nice tutorial. I was just wondering about this while watching your latest outing. Nothing cooler looking than stitched patches. Many would discard them a buy new pants with no soul.

Using dental floss is genius, cotton thread is so fragile in comparison, especially the cheap stuff. What do you think of canvas clothing? It's expensive is the only thing.
