    A round handle is at great way of ruining any axe. You need some type of profiling to hepl edge alignment & to prevent the handle from twisting in your hand, when the edge doesn't hit perfectly, or hits a angle surface.

    Totally agree, one can learn a lot from watching Forged in Fire. A weapon that twists in the hand does not get a positive review. Just my opinion.........

    A tomahawks head slides up the handle so it doesn't fly off and hit someone else! This thing you made has a head that is jammed down on the handle! Which would make it an axe.

  • @RamadaArtist

    @RamadaArtist

    I had to actually look up "tomahawk" on Wikipedia to see what you were talking about. Crazy that I never knew this before, but it makes sense: the shaft that the tomahawk blade is attached to is wider at the top than at the base, so the blade just has a ring that fits around the shaft and you slide it up until the width of the handle stops the blade from going any further. I've seen so many axe making/repairing videos with the traditional split and wedge assembly; it's weird to me that I haven't seen anyone make a simple tomahawk, as the construction is rather intuitive.

    i saw 1 thing wrong with that axe. The handle is round. It shouldn't be round, Rounded handles make it harder to index. Making the handle oval shape would make it easier.

    Nice, but round handles on edged weapons are an automatic fail. You need an oval cross section so you can feel the edge alignment and to keep it from turning in your grip.

    That's pretty bad ass. I don't recognize it, I've only played brotherhood, but still really nice, what metal did you use ? And how well does it hold up to repetitive use? Will it retain its shape after chopping 20, 50 or 100 rounds of firewood? Would it be able to strike a hard flat metal piece (like a shield) or handle striking a metal pipe or sword without damaging the arch or tthe axe blade? Just curious...
