Making Concrete Cornhole boards

During our March class here at Trinic, we made a couple sets of Cornhole boards. One was handpacked and the other was sprayed. We used Trinic GFRC premix ( just add glass fiber & water). This was very easy and a great way to show how two different application methods can produce very different looks. We hold classes about very 2-3 months. This is pretty cool. In the video, the concrete appears to be very thick and consistent, allowing it to be placed without collapsing. Is it possible to make the concrete more fluid so that it can be poured into a mold and compacted like regular concrete?

Absolutely! These were made to intentionally leave voids, to later fill with another color. For a more uniform look, use our GFRC premix and spray a face coat on the form, then hand pack the back coat. You could also make an interior form and pour the entire thing with GFRC SCC premix. To make the handpacked boards, you'll want our GFRC premix (2 bags per board were used in our design). You'll also need some fiber (we used PVA fibers - REC100) dosed at 1% of total dry weight. AR Glass can also be used at 3%. These can be found on our website - www.trinic.us

Dimensions are 24" wide by 48" long. 4" rise in front and 12" on back. The hole is 6" diameter and 9" on center to the back of the board. The rest is all up to you in how you'd like the design.

Did you guys add any reinforcement other than the fibers?

These have glass fibers in the mix, so no need for rebar. If you wanted to add some, you could. We recommend fiberglass rebar over steel.
