Juliette was born in Brazil, grew up in Washington where she met Lionel, and they moved to Montreal, Quebec to start making chocolate. Juliette & Chocolat is a family-run & local Canadian business. All her products are handmade by Juliette herself and her pastry chefs. If you're looking for a cool place to visit in Montreal, definitely visit one of her many cafes (or more appropriately: chocolate bars ;-) ) and support local entrepreneurship. Want to learn more about? Hear her story ~
"As far back as I can remember, I always thought chocolate was magical! It’s the sweet pleasure that I dreamt about, that introduced me to cooking, and that gave me so many sweet memories. Even after becoming an adult, I kept eating as much, if not more, chocolate, and kept dreaming about it. So after finishing my studies in Montreal, I decided I had to follow my sweet tooth, and open the restaurant I was dreaming of. A place where chocolate would be king, where you could get simple, generous desserts to make kids and adults swoon!"
"And so in 2003, when I was 22, I opened the first chocolate bar in Quebec! Finding the right name was a challenge, until my sister had an inspiration everyone loved: Juliette & Chocolat! On the menu, all the desserts I dreamt of as a little girl, but also chocolate dishes and drinks to showcase this magical ingredient and travel its origins and flavors. Thirteen years and a lot of work later, Juliette & Chocolat has grown a lot, and so have I. I’m incredibly grateful and lucky to be working with a team that’s incredibly passionate, creative and sweet! Our mission is still the same: share sweet moments!"
"I’m in my restaurants every day, so if you see me please introduce yourself, I’d love to meet you! And until then, I wish you a happy, chocolatey life!" - Juliette, Source: julietteetchocolat.com

    Yes, the successful ones are MTF's in all walks of life. Male to Female and some are FTM's harder to spot. The males have flat backs MTF's and the FTM's have curved backs like a woman does. They are not transgendered always. We are finding all famous people on tv are androgynes, hard to explain, but they are the opposite sex of what they portray. Your transgenders have a sex change, most of these people do not. They are taking over the whole world. All positions of authority are these androgynes. We have them as judge and district attorney in our town. It is getting the end of the age.

She obviously has a great love for her work. I don’t think I heard one single “um” or “er”. That natural way of speaking comes when you have a real love for what you do. She is a lucky woman to have found her passion in life.

    Cindy Bowes Cornstarch is cheaper. It would taste kinda weird to bite into it normally but this is coated in chocolate so you never get that first taste of cornstarch before you start chewing.

    You could use either cornstarch or a mix of powdered sugar and cornstarch (1 for 1) but using just powdered sugar would make the marshmallow much more sticky. The cornstarch helps absorb humidity whereas powdered sugar melts in contact with humidity. I personally use only cornstarch cause it's dipped in chocolate and it's less of a hassle when there's some leftover :)

    I would love to try this with my children. I am in the US and just want to make sure; can I convert the measurements from metric to standard without a problem? I notice she uses a weight measurement instead of volume for liquids - that has me a little confused about the translation.

  • @Stereokroma

    @Stereokroma

    7 жыл бұрын

    You can use an inexpensive food scale for the measurements, or as @JulietteBrun says below: 1gram = 1ml, and the US 1 cup measurement is generally rounded to being 235ml for example. Hope that helps. Maybe Juliette will reappear later and add her insight.

    So fun to do it with the kids if you don't mind the mess! I highly recommend it! I always use my scale for my recipes cause it's so much more precise, but you can certainly convert the measurements to standard! Let me know if you end up doing it with the kids!
