many many years ago a man told me: if you want realistic, look at photos from the used car market. In other words, at-least for marketing, noone wants realistic / natural. But I do agree, and this orange is more something that annoys me personally. It’s not a common practice, it’s just something I do, and something that’s especially noticeable in cycles 🤷‍♂️

Cool tip! I think it definitely looks better with the white light in stead of the orange, especially for automotive renders. Thanks for sharing!

but still wonderring, why does it not render correctly, and how do we decide which parts to desaturate?

So, I'd say it does render correctly, it's a more artistic touch. And what parts: So definitely black plastic. If you want to go a step further, then also Metals, especially the rough ones like Aluminum. I hope that helps.

I thought is was photo but actually it is a photoscan environment than makes it real. We have to go to nettiauto for reference.

It is just a 3D scanned piece of land brought into a scene. And an hdri that sort of matches.

Terrain can still be improved.. But lighting is good
