Watching this video made me realize that I need more DIY projects in my life... and possibly some protective gear! Thanks for the laughs and the awesome tutorial!
Truly a "Substantial" build Koss! Planning, cutting grinding, turning, drilling, tapping and welding all those pieces is as impressive as the finished product. Great Welding too! Love the leather wrapping and end cap. Like the Hulk says; "Smash"! Another beautiful piece for your record book, Koss. Thanks for always "Bringing It" to us!!
Thank you for not including a "demo reel" at the end. Melons of the World salute you! Beautiful, as always.

I actually planned to conduct a similar test, but unfortunately (or fortunately for melons), I ran out of time =)
Unexpectedly! But as always cool and professionally done! fantastically!👏

I know...I was hoping for some things to get smashed.
The morning star was typically a peasant's club on steroids... force multipliers with armor piercing potential. Something for the "little guy" to punch above his weight against armored opponents. Over time it was re-imagined and adopted by the military-proper; the ones you see in museums (and in this video) are examples of the design taken to its limits.

It's primary use was to rip the plate armour off an opponent. The little spikes dig into the armour and the inertia of the club part rips the armour plate off its leather bindings. It was good against helmets too, to rip the helmet off the head or rotate it with great force.
The shape is very nice it's a "morning star" variety of the bludgeon. Well done
Hey, it’s one of our favorite weapons smith!
Pretty nice "Thumper" Sir. As an ex machinist myself, it was fun trying to anticipate your process as you went along.
Wow that's totally awesome 🤙😺
that looks like the longest project youve made! very cool 👌
Нравится смотреть подобные видео, крутая работа💪💪💪
Very nice, very satisfying. I have a nice custom made all metal mace that was a gift for a birthday. Love a good mace. Simple as.
Good job with the head construction. Interesting spike design. the bicolor handle looks so nice!
All that engineering glued onto a broom handle.

Two thumbs way up 👍👍
Morning Star is such a weird name. One good whack with that thing and it's Good Night Forever!
The next revenge movie better have a twenty two minute montage of the protagonist making a Morning Star.
Amazing work, dude! It looks incredible! 😮 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
As someone studying to become a welder, I have to commend your technique and fitment on this project. Preem and profesh there, Koss!

@@patrickroberts7847 Hey, if you're gonna grind it flush, who cares if it looks ugly initially?
Nice show toy. A lot work in that 1.
That is badass :)
nice work
Awesome 👍👍👍 keep update and thank's 🙏😊
That's a lot of work a work of art by a true craftsman
That thing's a beauty!!! EXcellent job Mr. Koss 👏👏👏. Love it! And a valiant attempt at getting all the spikes into the furnace in one go there mate 😂😂😂. 😎
Amazing Craftsmanship 👍🏻👍🏽👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Good job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It is Mr. Jan Žižka weapon !
Very Impressive I love the way you made it look the design it’s self is nice and honestly I don’t really see anything wrong with it honestly if I was you I would never sell it I would hang it on my wall :D
Smashing Excellence Koss! Amazing craftsmanship and detail on point! btw, could I borrow it for a day?🤫...🤭 Thank You my friend for sharing the build of such a beautiful piece🤝 ☆Jay☆
Hello Koss beautifully done good job
Very nice Angular Morning Star besides Evening Star from Tannhauser by Richard Wagner & Pilgrims Chorus. German opera
At this point, hardening seems like overkill. But I love it 😂❤
i cant even imagine how much the equipment used in this vid costs!!!!! Awesome video!
For the spikes I would recommend you try and get soil penetrometer probe tips. The weld onto the bolt may be strong, but that would potentially be a weak point due to the inability to get the weld all the way to the middle of the bolt.
Excellent work, thank you for sharing! From the practical point of view, the wooden handle (oak?) might be a weak link and I would also suggest another screw across it to secure to the head. Please, don't mind my engineering critique. 🙂
Always an amazing job. Just curious, but would a thread lock glue help keep the spikes from dislodging?
So cool. Zombie killer if I ever saw one.
You’re going to put someone’s eye out with that
Beautiful building, what peoduct do you use to make the metal black?

Качественная работа. Воронение стойкое? Если не секрет, что за оно?
Это лучший девайс для вечерней прогулки по городским окраинам. 😁👍🏻
What type of welding were you doing?? The weapon is sweet!!!
Could maybe fill it halfway with ball bearings, to act as a dead-blow hammer?
@erinfinn2273

Those look like about 1/2in steel plates for the head. Based on a few sledgehammers of about the same size as those plate stacks, that thing probably weighs close to 12-15lbs. Don't worry, it's a dead-blow enough without shot inside.
😉😉
Do you not use inserts when facing off the steel? I see them when you do the lathe work but none in the facemill 1:21
How much does that weigh?
I'M CALLING THE THE HOLLY POLIGON! Or Holy-Poli for abreviation.
Круто и как всегда технологично👍. а чем воронение делалось?
Out of curiosity - how much does this mace weight?
I was wondering how morning star would be produced with medival technology and i think the way to create it in order to be solid is to cast it, if you want spikes to be extra strong, you may forge them, plance in mould and cast the "head", so it traps and holds spikes, but not sure if spikes will stay quenched.
Since I don't have the equipment, skill to use the equipment nor the money to buy or get training on how to use the equipment, how much to make one and sell it?
Looks dangerous 😊
Какой вес вашего изделия ??
Make a mace that has the temperpedic logo that makes sweaky toy sounds when it hits something.
Головоломка.
**Sigh** Where do I order one?
Для запугивания сойдет, но для самообороны так себе. Нужно лишь обездвижить обидчика а этой балдой наглухо можно отбивные делать.
Pretty damn nice work if I do say so my damn self
Find a design for "Jan Zizka" monument
Come now! you are required by internet regulation to put that through a melon of some sort!
Where testing? :D
👍😎🍺🍩🛠️🗜️🗡️
A very controversial idea 🧐, with a good implementation 👍🏻. For zombie apocalypse 🤔❓
Ah, yes, *"Knife* making" and *"Knife* overview"
Give us a damn test please!

I'm a fan of craftsmanship, but did this feel over engineered to you? Speaking as a blacksmith, I feel like you could have accomplished the same thing in a quarter of the time if you forged that, and at a quarter of the budget.
