i Made 4 single engine pistons for my b-17 bomber and they work really good with the prop and fuel tanks

Some day I would like to see you put these engines to the test by fitting them into actual cars or boats. Or making a completely one of a kind car or boat using one of your personally hand made engines. Would be a real treat to watch.

You can operate each solenoid in double action by use of electronic commutation and an H-bridge. You can use the back EMF of the solenoid to control the H-bridge. I guess, the efficiency of these engines is very small, because the current is limited by the coil resistance. It would be better to operate the solenoid at constant higher voltage and current limitation for each stroke in order to pump just the required amount of magnetic energy into the solenoid which is used up during the power stroke. In this case, the enginge can be made as efficient like other electric engines.

Maybe try adding a timing advance knob for those switches. It seems completely possible to allow them to rotate with a lever that adjusts the advance for higher or lower speeds.

Que tan eficiente sería un motor de esos llevado a producción en un auto de calle? No tendría sentido lo se, pero el ruido de un bloque es algo que aún muchos buscan en un auto y está perece ser una alternativa , se podría hacer una combinación de motor solenoidal y motor brushless

A fully encased multi layer one will be the best design. I know because ppl have already built them. Look Up Peter Linderman and his motors. This is a 100 year old replication.

It looks like a combination of 3d printing, cnc milling, and some hand crafted aluminum parts
