Excellent sign and very thoughtful of you. Could you please share what router bits you used for this project? Want to do something similar but overwhelmed by the amount of router bits there are. Very best!

Would this base work with the cordless makita compact router?
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking

I'm not 100% sure, if they have same base plate it should
Anyone know what font is used here? Thx
Boa noite! Onde comprar essa fresa q voce usou?. Obrigado👍
Can I ask where did you get the Perspex guide bush from, I can’t find in the uk, not even on makita site, can’t find the profiler bit either
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
3 жыл бұрын
not sure what is perspex but have links in the description
what bit are u using what speed can u show how u set uo fhe edge guide u used in the beginning, is this acrylic used in place of plunge router and why ? i just bought this makita router and plunge base and confised about when to use the plunge base vs trim base ?
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
3 жыл бұрын
Used the chamfer 45 degree bit at full speed. The edge guide not totally necessary but just attached it and lined it up with the edge of the wood and tightened up. As for the plunge base in my opinion just used more for Woodworking applications like grooves or slots, custom acrylic base is more comfortable for me and easier to me. hope that helps.
Hi, when cutting out letters or designs do I always need to cut from let to right what if I accidentally go the wrong direction will it still cut or will I chew up or ruin my workpiece? I know the bit is made to cut in one direction but what if I go the opposite way? Thanks
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking

These are very good questions, I'm not a pro or anything but a lot is going to depend on wood grain and the direction of the router spinning. Face grain usually is easiest to carve and edge or vertical grain is harder and easier to make the router wobble. for me it's more of a feel and what's comfortable, turning the board around helps. This basswood is easy to carve in any direction but others may not.
looks cool, where did you buy the base for the router? thanks
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking

thanks, yeah link is in description where I get the base plate and bits
Hi from Brisbane, Australia ! Just wondering if you could supply a link to where you got those nice letters and elephant design from ? Cheers Rob
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking

hey there, the elephant design I got off of Google I believe don't have the link anymore, and the letters were a free front and then I just modified and resize in image program
Where do you get that clear base on the router
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking

I do have the links in the description on the base to where to get them or you can make one also
Můžu poprosit o radu jakou používáte stopkovou frézu a kde jí sehnat děkuji
Hi. is the perspex base on the router shop bought or handmade thanks phil.

hi, I have the link to where I got the Acryllic router base in the description.
CUTE! I wouldn't have used black around the elephant. Black is what one wears in mourning. Doesn't belong in a kid's room.

Why sanding sealer? I’m going to make a sign for my dads birthday.
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
3 жыл бұрын
hi, the sanding sealer is to help limit the spray paint bleeding on the edges in this instance. also may want to use it if staining, definitely on soft wood.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just glue the paper design on, let it dry, then follow the pattern with your router, then to finish you just sand off the scrap paper that's left? No need to be using transfer paper.
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
2 жыл бұрын
There's many ways of transferring patterns, I've done it with paper, or ink transfer and transfer paper. put perfectly fine doing it that way.
0:14 don’t reveal your location. That slab of wood now costs $25,000 🙂
Eric Rhoten is better. I mean how many ways were you going to explain 1/8 of an inch? If anyone watching does not know what that is they should not be touching a power tool.
