Something I did when I was starting out was just use recipes from online and as you got more comfortable in the process, take your favorite recipe and expand on it. Do you want it to be more moist? Do research into what makes that dessert more moist and add it! Want it to have less crispy edges? Research how to make it less crispy! You've got to take something and make it your own! It IS gonna be filled with trial and error and you're most likely gonna have a lot of mistakes but that's good! Mistakes mean that you're learning!

This is such a good remake to see how you've improved. For most remakes the artists just entirely redesign the cake and it always disappoints me because it doesn't really seem to be them improving rather than them just doing something completely different
