Man your sculptures and models are out of this world, the level detail you go into is out of this world. Your next 200 videos should be nothing but steampunk , dieselpunk!!.

Thanks very much Jake! Thanks for watching 😁
Really like the mixed ellements!
The movie industry needs you
Having a background in Cabinetry/Carpentry, I was looking at the feet of your mech when I realized, hey those are hinge plates...then I looked at the legs 😀. Very creative use of cabinet hinges 👍 !

Haha, well spotted ;) yes they do the trick don't they. Certainly saves time in building them from scratch.
Thanks for another mech building! The way you create those leg is genius, so much time saving!

Thanks for watching. Yeah they're really useful!
Great sculpting
Starting my day with a video from my master, how wonderful is that! I said it earlier your droid/robots are great. I really love using existing part, like those hinges! Every time I see those hinges I got the same thought as you do! Fantasy is endless! The start of this droid is really great! Whaaaaaaaa go crazy over here! Thank you for sharing!

Haha, yeah I found some cheap silicon a while back so that made it very easy to do ;)
Maravilhoso!

Another great build. You must go through a fortune of silicone.
@thedarkpower

Thanks! Actually I use this stuff which is relatively cheap. Plus the moulds are generally pretty small so this goes a long way. www.dwrplastics.com/general-purpose-moulding-rubber/124.html
i am glad i found your channel you are doing great work ,i just got a resin printer and i am making all the details for my creations, i think is something you need to consider ,it will help you design and create complicated models easier !

Thanks dude I appreciate it. I need to get into 3D printing, I do find the scratch build method has many benefits though.

@@thedarkpower I am building scratch build rc scale models my self and i know what you mean but when you got the chance to create something way faster with 3d printing plus with your scratch build skill things become easier !
@thedarkpower

Thanks! Yeah it'll definitely be useful in some circumstances but I've seen how long it takes to 3d print stuff so it's definitely quicker to turn some things on a lathe or to sculpt then mould them the traditional way.
Love this, it has a proper grim dark style to it, much like some of the wh40k stuff. The clay you used is oil-based, it looks like. I take it that makes the sculpture less permanent? Or do you have some kind of trick up your sleeve for casting it in resin?
@thedarkpower
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris. Yes the sculpture does give it abit of a 40k vibe. So I've actually now moulded the sculpture and cold cast it in brass. I'm going to paint the rest of the body a dark red so it should look nice against that once it's polished up. That'll all be in the next vid.
good
What ia the music you have used or use in all your videos especialy the one at the end of this video. Much apriciated thanks. Great job on these mechs, love em all.

Thanks. I've used a bunch - some are ones I've bought, some are ones by my brother who's a musician. More recently I've been using ones from youtubes music catalogue here kzread.infomusic?nv=1 the one at the end of this video is called 'arp ascent'.
You have to spend a shiteload of money on silicone! Over here its 30 Euro per kg.
@thedarkpower
3 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you get. The stuff I commonly use is between €13-19 per kg approx, but you can spend much more if you use stuff like smooth-on, for example.

What is that huge bottle of glue you're using that you have to spray? I mean, is it really crazy glue?

That's crazy glue activator - you spray it on the glue to make it set instantly.

What type of resin was the black resin to make it flexible like that?
@thedarkpower
3 жыл бұрын
It's polyurethane. I don't think it had fully set which is why there was some flex to it.
