Making a Solid Metal Coyote Skull | Casting Molten Tin
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I made a catalyzed silicone rubber mold using a Coyote Skull and then poured a molten metal alloy made out of tin and bismuth. The result is a 5lbs solid metal skull doorknocker. Parts of the coyote skull where thin and delicate so I used modeling clay to make those parts thicker prior to creating the mold.

The Cerrotru alloy I used has a very low melting temperature so I was able to melt it all with a plug in hot pot.

Hey Nord, stop getting people to try to explain VPN's. It's not accurate.
Soooo about the container home. Is the project over?
Awesome idea and presentation!
So freakin cool Ben! I can see so many applications for this technique - as always, I'm so inspired by your creativity and experimentation!
Cool project!
Really cool Ben! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Nobody else in the neighborhood had one of those! Very cool!
Thanks. I love it. Can metal tin be a soldering?
Hi, I love all the wonderful things you make and the way you explain the process. Just wondering if you have ever made a parcel letterbox? I’m having such a hard time finding a tutorial 😕 I would really appreciate it if you could help us figure this out 🙏🏻 Thanks Patrice
This is the most metal thing I have ever seen!

That thing is going to be banging all over once placed on a swinging door.

BOUNCEHOUSE I was thinking the same thing. I don’t know if that tin alloy is ferrous, but a weak magnet embedded in the “snout” of the skull might keep it in place during normal opening and closing of the door.
Love the skull!
Now I want one
I absolutely love the concept and end result! but I wish the pivot point was a little more hidden.

Could countersink the bolt head and the nut. And even maybe fill in the hole after since the material is so easy to work with.

@@mikulalukasz Since you seem to be knowledgeable about general metalworking, and since the video producer doesn't appear to answer posts regarding this video, I'll attempt to ask you my question. How do you deal with tin's natural 'habit' of contracting while cooling and solidifying after being melted and poured? I'm assuming that's probably why ^he added bismuth to his tin, in order to maybe reduce the contraction. But it's actually difficult to find info on the problems associated with tin contraction during casting, and how to solve it.
Very nice 👍
does anyone know if you can cast a gamecube controller shell?
Can u plz show jow to make this staircase?????
Is the mold you used for this project reusable?
Well you know. What I said on I.G. Yes you are pretty brilliant.
Esta bien!👍.Para mí, mejor más grande calavera de toro texano, si puedes probar. Gracias a tu video
Looks like General Greivous
nice
At some point in the video, it reminds me of a kick drum pedal. That’d be better in steel I guess, so you can keep stomping on that mangy coyote
Cool
The easiest way to remove mill scale and rust together is to soak the metal in diluted muriatic acid for 10-15 minutes.

Metal \m/ (see what I did there). Remember to wear a dust mask when using a dremel or sander on bone, kids, the dust is really bad for your lungs.
Cuts the mold open...🤦🏼♂️
I want you to do this to my corpse
I am slowly getting over channels bypassing me paying KZread for commercial free, I do mean slowly It still ticks me off. I don't understand how you are picking your sponsors, the Stupid VPN is not something 90 percent of people watching your videos are even interested in. I am a maker like yourself, 3d printing, Pyrography, I also am a professional jeweler. You might want to advertise something that is useful to the majority of your audience. However, I hate commercials soo much I won't be buying anything that is from a commercial especially if I am paying for no commercials.
