Making a rose.
Ойын-сауық
Taking on the project of building a rose from one piece of solid steel. Using the anvil and hammer carve out the stem, leaf, and rose.
My name is Timothy Dyck. I got hooked on blacksmithing when I was 13 years old. I quickly realized that in order to keep blacksmithing I needed money to buy costly supplies, so I started making small items and selling them at the local farmer markets. The farmer markets turned into craft shows and craft shows turned into custom projects. Right out of high school I had the opportunity to apprentice under a blacksmith, where I worked with him for four years. We did projects for some of the most prestigious houses around the rocky mountains and were apart of many large public sculptures. I learned many valuable lessons while working under his training, but the desire to set up my own shop and go out on my own was always something I dreamed about.
So in 2013 I started setting up my full time blacksmith shop out of BC, Canada making custom projects and products like railings, gates, lights, stairs, fences and all the many blacksmithing tools required to keep the blacksmithing shop running. I love what I do and this is my dream job. I enjoy showing you what's going on in the blacksmith shop through the lens of a camera and would love to have you along for the ride as I live out my dream of being a blacksmith in the 21st century.

My deceased father and I made many roses in the past, however we used several pieces of iron. Never even occurred to me that a rose could be forged from a single piece of iron! This is master artisanship of iron at work! Extremely get well done sir! Thank you for sharing your time and talent!

Every year for me and my wife's anniversary I make her a rose made out of spoons. It's fairly simple to do all you need is mig welder and some cheap dollar store spoons. One of these days she will have a few dozen.

It must be nice to have a forge partner, I have to do all my projects alone. An amazing display of craftmanship and teamwork, nice job!
Now that’s some next level teamwork. Is like you know each others moves before he would do it
Never thought ide see a Wither Rose in real life....

Timothy, as I have commented in a previous video, you are a master craftsman. This vid certainly did not disappoint and let’s myself and others enjoy watching you give expression to your obvious talent.
That was amazing! Never saw a rose forged like that before.
Been waiting for a long time to find a mastersmiths rose making vid. Thank you for this.
Being focused on a common goal really allows for harmonious and productive human relationships. Especially when set to very chill instrumental backing music.
Nice Video, that interaction when taking the bar out of the bolster is a great example of the team work you foster when you've got a striker that you work well with.
Must say with that music and that nice handwork, its almost as relaxing as standing in my own blacksmith. Great work 👌
The entire process was fascinating, but the cooperation @3:15 was beautiful!
Although my girl will never appreciate such a work of art I wish I had the skills to do when I just seen.

That was a beautiful video, especially the presentation at the end.
A masterpiece. And a great assistant is nearly priceless. Awesome job guys! Just...WOW!
Great job and great background music!!
Beautiful work, exactly as described in the training textbook! Thank you for sharing the knowledge.
Wow Tim, once again we are in awe with your talent!! "How does he DO that?" and "Wow, that's truly incredible" are just some of the phrases we expressed while watching your video! 😊 We especially love the last bit of the video - it's a brilliant ending to an already amazing video! 😁 Well done, Tim!
Great job and a lot of work and time. Hope someone special enjoys it. I enjoyed watching the build. Thank you.
It's magical to see you in your forge. Fantastic rose ...
Your thought process is awesome. Never seen a rose made like this. Incredible👍👍👍👍
"no power tool" XD ur friend is a power tool beautifully work, keep it up
I think this is peak humanity. We shape the ores of the earth into the shapes of nature, we don't just look at the stars, we try to explore them, we play music for old Elephants. Yes, we do have war and death to our name, that is true, but with time that will pass in favour of stuff like this, I hope. An awesome project, thank you for being an example of our best!
3:17 was superb Teamwork! Most impressive!
Creating such a beautiful rose out of a single piece of 1 1/2 round bar, WOW! You watched an extremely skilled craftsman working! I tip my hat!🇦🇺
My BF led me here, he made me the most adorable Rose ever, thanks to you both. He followed this but added his own personal touch and it proudly sits on my dressing table. 🥰🌹⚒
wow, that was really fun to watch the coordination between you guys. awesome work on the rose
Amazing work! That is a beautiful piece of art. You do such a great job showcasing that blacksmithing can be used, not only for practical utilitarian pieces, but also beautiful art.
Wow. So Beautiful. Lovely.
Awesome work Mr. Timothy, simply awesome.
Best 7 minutes of my day so far. Seeing it cool down at the end was a brilliant idea.
A perfect rose for a gift that doesn't wither . Creativity at it's best .! 👌👌❤️
That has been the most magical, wonderful, awe inspiring, creative and life moving moment I have yet to witness this far in my life. Thank you

By far the most beautiful rose made of steel I've ever seen. It's exquisite.
Their hands must be indestructible. Good lord. I spent half a day hitting bricks with a hammer once and couldn't close my hand all the way for an entire week. Wow.
Wow guys!!! that’s good!!! You guys work so good together!👍🇺🇸
This is the best forged steel rose I ever see !!
That last bit with the glow fading was absolutely beautiful
Your teamwork and skills are amazing. Like brothers of the Forge.
Really Beautiful it is. Seems as something my Daddy would have made my Momma. I have the Anvils left... although both of my parents are deceased. I watched the creation of your Rose and it took me back to watching my Daddy in the basement always making something. Thank you for bringing back a "Moment In Time" 🌹
Браво! Работа космос! Снимаю шляпу. Здорово!
