I made a replica of telephone box by name Kiosk No. 2
I edited more than 450 clips - or more than 8 hours of raw video into 11 minutes and 30 seconds.
All your questions will be answered in the follow-up video.
Special thanks:
Barbara Morales - for all the love and support you give me. And for dealing with my craziness! I love you!
Les Kenny from Build Eazy (build plans and an awesome page!!!)
www.buildeazy.com/k2phone-0.ht...
Les, I'm forever thankful.
Your plans are precise and well made!
Even though I changed many things (lack of materials available where I live) it made the build so easy since I had all the measures ready. Thank You!
Research and thanks to:

Google search engine for K2 kiosk
Miguel Romo - for providing great looking garden for the K2 and supporting my work.

Michael Anderson Thank you very much Michael! I didn't want to bore people with 29-part series haha. I have a lot to learn with the jigsaw, but thank you for the compliment! Oddly enough it is probably my favorite tool to use (since I replaced my old one)
It is unbelievable what nice things you can build with very easy machines! Respect !

Wow Andrea! I grew up around these "phone boxes" and pretty much took them for granted, they were beautiful pieces of our country's history and now they are fast disappearing. Your piece is the best copy I have EVER seen! and for it to be made from wood aswell, amazing. Congratulations on a great project! Well done. N.

Neil George Thank you very much for the kind words Neil! The Telephone boxes are beautiful pieces of protected structures in the UK, I hope they conserve them. Actually the first K2 prototypes were build entirely out of wood and only one is still in use at the entrance to the Royal Academy!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_telephone_box

krtwood Thanks Kevin! After so many nails pounded in I would appreciate someone sending me a nail gun, since you're the first one to offer I'll shortly e-mail you my mailing address and a thank you note. PS actually I dreaded for a router to make all that molding, instead I used hand plane and sandpaper to do it (router came later). Damn it - my shop is like I'm a woodworker of the 16th century - OK, with just few power tools - don't tell me that Michelangelo didn't use laser CNC to cut that David statue :)

Thank you very much Igor. Wish I had those tools when I made it. But that also proves the point that you don't need shitload of tools nor even a dedicated workshop. I have to say, what brilliant workmanship and your phone box is fantastic. I hope you don't mind me asking, are you a carpenter by trade or work with wood in some capacity? I wish I had your skills. I'd probably lose a couple of fingers on the first day lol. Great job mate :-)
@AndreaArzensek

Thank you very much Austin! I'm self taught woodworker. I've learned (and still learning) from other woodworkers here on YT and from many woodworking books. My father used to be a carpenter but only working with sheets, still he is very talented with wood. Please don't loose your fingers, always think the cut through and if you don't feel safe there are many other ways to make the cut. Cheers!
Wow thats pretty cool. How long in real time did this project take you to build? Also what species of solid wood are you using? Thanks again.

I found your channel from a comment you left on a Diresta Vlog. I'm the one who made the small model phone booth featured in his video. This is such an impressive build! I think you got the scale and proportions just right. What kind of reference material did you work from?
@AndreaArzensek
7 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, Your build is great, I know from this one that even the small model must have taken long time to finish. My phone booth is about 6 inches lower than the original because I wanted more stability in the windy weather in Mexico, still I bolted it in concrete at the place it rests now (here is on the map: goo.gl/maps/kSDPyJS57jp ) I built it from the plans on page: www.buildeazy.com However I have adapted and changed some things to suit me, still the plans are awesome and they were great help! Mine took about 3 months to finish but I have't worked every day, still it was a lot of work. Cheers!

***** Hi Lindy, acrylic sheet 3mm thick. You can also use polycarbonate, it's stronger but way more expensive. I was very happy with the choice I made.

+John Vatistas I wouldn't really know, there are links in the description of all the useful info I found. I haven't really thought about this build too much I just started making separate pieces and then put them together. Also I bought the colors to my taste, and till later visited U.K. and there I saw that the color is a bit darker than mine. Unless you put it next to the original it doesn't really matter that much.

Thank you for your quick reply. It would be great to see more of your building process instead of the quick snippets (which was fun to watch). You do really nice work and it reminds me of a quick version of the show This Old House. Even if your video was 45 mins to an hour. Just a suggestion. I bet you'd get a lot more views especially if you did more unique building projects like this.
