    It's actually better because they machine stitch the straps up until the point of most stress (lugs). Plus the edge finishing isn't anywhere near as nice as Sang's.

    I'll be grateful to see (and learn) how you make a classic bifold wallet. There's many videos of bifold wallet making out there but very few for luxury bifold wallet making. It would be nice to know of the reinforcement material used, the leather thickness, the lining, etc and the extra steps needed to make a fine leather wallet/goods.

  • @AtelierSANGBLEU

    @AtelierSANGBLEU

    2 жыл бұрын

    I agree with that lack of class or info about the luxury leather goods out there. Everyone just doing some bulky/ lugged designs and mass-production methods with hard reinforcements and fabrics inside. So I really struggled for several years with the method French Lux brands use, and I've developed mine based on them. I think this is a really valuable asset of mine. So I tend not to describe it all in vids currently. (but actually, so many know-hows are revealed already on my vids) But maybe one day, I'm planning to do some tutorials about this as well🥺

    언제봐도 디테일이 정말 감탄 나오네요 ㅠㅠㅠ 저 궁금한 부분이 있는데요! 스트랩이나 카드지갑 같이 작은 소품은 바느질 마감할 때 라이터로 태우면 뭔가 실이 탄게 보기 안좋아 보이는데.. 어떻게 마감하시나요??

  • @AtelierSANGBLEU

    @AtelierSANGBLEU

    2 жыл бұрын

    실에 따라 마감은 달리하는게 보통입니다, 사용하시는 실이 합성사(폴리사) 라면 불에 바로 타기 때문에 라이터로 마감을 많이들 하시지만, 천연 리넨사를 사용하는 저희나 여타 럭셔리브랜드들은 라이터로 태우는게 아니라 소량의 본드를 이용해서 마감합니다;) 제 예전 영상들 잘 찾아보시면 항상 본드마감을 하고 있다는걸 찾으실 수 있으실겁니다😉 에르메스 아티잔 분들 영상 찾아보셔도 많이 보실거구요🤗

Thanks again for such a fantastic video.

    It would be extremely nice if you share some bifold card slots making techniques! I’ve tried to make square fully lined card slots like you do. With a lot of skiving i got the edge that i like, it’s flat and sharp. But right behind the edge i got really bulky part where the bottom of first and second pocket layers on each other. Is there some tricks to avoid that? It’s really annoying😤

  • @AtelierSANGBLEU

    @AtelierSANGBLEU

    2 жыл бұрын

    Oh, I just wanted to try some really little basics for the tutorials. I'm not planning to teach about the exact methods of that kind of extremely high-level technique yet but only the basics 😭 Bottom of 1st/2nd pocket? I'm not so sure where is that bulky part but why don't you just skive them out as well?? if you can achieve the thin layers already, I think you can skive them out as well!😉

    @@AtelierSANGBLEU Thank you sir! I’ve meant the bottom pocket and “belly” that grows thicker due to layering the square pockets on each other even when skived. Skiving them wider will cause the leather flesh side visible inside the pocket. Hope i didn’t confuse you, my english is not that good as i’d like it to be🙂

    Looks likes non tapered? If so, I really dislike this trend, but I suppose it’s as inelegant as the large watches popular today. It’s also not as challenging to make a straight cut than a taper. I’m currently working on a strap for a vintage JCL a friend has. It’s has a 18mm lug width, 14mm buckle, incredibly delicate, difficult to craft. Would love to see something like this on the channel.
