i have an idea, what if you make like a cobra knot at the top going over your phone and at the end maybe a diamond knot. at the other side if your phone case an elastic loop, that way you can put the crown knot through the loop. and that way you have extra protection so it doesnt fall out if you fall, running etc

Very nice work. I can weave both sides at the same time … instead of pulling the line through, I make a simple loop and pull that through with a crochet hook. I don’t use the cobra stitch for the edges so I can just slide half of the loop to the back side of the case. Repeat as often as necessary, and for the final step, you just run the end of cord through (without the loop).

Great minds think alike. Almost identical to the ones I make. Made the first one for my galaxy A5. I use a weave style on the sides that use twice as much and do an over 2, under 2 pattern and I use a block of plywood. You can make a strap to create positive retention with a side release buckle and a fishtail weave anchored to the front and back..and these things last for YEARS!! Great job!!

Wow i just love this project and i also find the color scheme perfect. I'm going to make one for my phone as well, but since i still have an iPhone 5s which is smaller than the one you're using for the demonstration, it might be a little more difficult to weave the cords, but i'going to try anyway. I have to say though the first time i saw this case on the screen it reminded me of the knitted slippers my grandmother use to do for us (not a bad memory for me at all) :-)

@@TheWeaversofEternity I only started this week to watch Paracord videos and i'm already hooked and my head is spinning with ideas. Now that i have seen this i'm thinking of an iPad case with a rear strap on it and/or a belt to wear it across my chest for when i am doing Real Estate photography (iPad is used to control the camera and see the results immediately). Perhaps a rigid plastic backing would be needed to have the needed rigidity but it's certainly possible. Thank's again for sharing your videos they"re both instructive and relaxing.

For the belt loops and crossings of the pouch, what else could we use to flatten the paracord and keep its shape? I have a soldering iron, would this be too hot to use? I also have a nail that I can use to fish the cord through between the cobra knots. Thanks in advance, have a good day.

I suppose you can minimize the cord twisting by straightening it the way you want before running it thru the loops, and when pulling use both hands, one hand you pinch the cord with 2 fingers (thumb/index) and pull with the other, the cord might run straight without twisting, since your forcing it to prevent twisting. I do this when passing the shoe laces. Btw, superb design, gonna give it a try!

You definitely can! I think it would be pretty viable to weave some designs onto the front of the case through the cross hatching of the paracord.

Forgive my curiosity, but what is the dumbbell-shaped object next to the wristwatch at 21:54 ?

That's a knucklebone from Aroundsquare. It's a small skill toy that you roll in between your fingers.

another thing you could do is use flat strips of leather for the flat sides weaved together and then the cobra weave for the narrow edge to have a nice contrast.

Very cool, but isn't the point of making things out of paracord to have it available in case of an emergency and you need rope? With all this gutted paracord aren't you kind of defeating the purpose? I'm pretty new to the paracord game so maybe there's something missing here.

Only if dirt gets on the screen. The paracord is much softer than the screen.

This is not something I'd make with survival in mind. Not all paracord crafts are meant to be taken apart for survival purposes.
