Making A Mystery Wood Wire Inlay Ring

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I don't know what kind of wood it is.
I know it's pretty at least.
I leave in my mistakes so that other people can learn from them sometimes.
It doesn't call or text, since it's made of wood.
This doesn't have much further it can go.
Precision harbor freight metal lathes are NOT a fan of how I use them, but I am a fan of how I use a precision metal lathe ^__^
I hope to get my new garage in working order so I can make something bigger than a ring in the coming months!
If you like this shit, hell yeah, if you don't hell yeah you get to make your own choices in life.

Thank you!

It’s so SHINY! And this definitely awoke a ring-rubbing fetish I did not know I had.

Oh that one turned out so good! Got to have a file, even if you don’t use it in the vid, like a mascot haha Looking forward to a shop tour once it gets all set up!

Question….Early in the video you place a metal “shim” between the back of the chuck and the ring to get a nice straight profile. What is the shim??? Thanx

That is a flat drill guide. Specifically "Big Gator Tools SDGMINI Mini V-DrillGuide" that fits between the jaws of my lathe, and also allows the ring to sit in there. It's also a very useful drill guide when not being misused like this

Mistakes are a sign of learning, and I agree wholeheartedly! (I bought my lathe at harbor freight in the United States)
