Great idea. Just what I need. I'm doing a project that requires 3mm dowel but have already bought some 3mm threaded rod. Oh well. I don't know why you've got 822 dislikes, this is a wicked idea. Saves you money in the end by doing it yourself.

I've seen a lot of doweling jigs and I even have a lie-Nelsen doweling jig plate but yours is the best one I have seen yet and I'm going to make one just like yours. BRAVO

I made one of these today and it works very well. Though the finish is a little rough, so remember to make the dowel a little over size so that it can be sanded smooth to the size you want. Very good idea.
