Hi Tom, I have really enjoyed watching this series. Great videos and thank you for taking the time to edit and share these on KZread. Your skill is something to behold and I wish you all the very best with the sale of your Morgan body. These are helping me to make a decision on which way I should go with my replica of a 1955 MGTF. Basically I have way too much curvature in the doors which are fibreglass and which came with the original body from the 80's. I have modified every part of the car, re-engineering all of the substandard features in my quest to make it a faithful copy of the original 1950's MG. Kind regards Paul from 48SPOKES

Hi Tom. I hope you had a nice Christmas break. It's always neat to watch someone else do this type of work. There is a never-ending amount of things to learn. I hear you about that bead roller/swaging machine. I took a simple one like that and motorized it (like many folks do). it made a world of difference. A youtuber named Jere Kirkpatrick shows how he modified one for Gene Winfield. He also sells the plans for the mods. Hopefully the Morgan sells quickly and an Austin chassis appears. Take care, Joe

Hey joe. Quite Christmas for me hope you had a good one too 👍 Thanks for that info I’ll look him up! I like the traditional machines, there just nicely made and work well. Yes I’m all up for putting a motor on it as long as it’s not to expensive. Definitely something I need to look into more 👍

I'm quite certain you will enjoy Jere's channel. He is a long time fabricator in many disiplines and is a wealth of knowledge. He used a reversible (larger) hand drill as his power source for the mods to the machine.

Always love watching your videos Tom - great skills as always and you make it look so easy! As others have observed, I understand that this will be the traditional way, but it does seem remiss not to use the opportunity of fresh metal to apply a coat of epoxy to the bare surfaces before closing them up? Thanks for sharing 👍

Are those wooden Morgan door frames totally flat? I need to make the doors for my Riley but I am running out of Ash. I should just have enough to complete the body framing though. The doors have a ton of shape to them to match the curved body. Two edges on the Riley doors wrap around metal plates similar to what you show here so thanks for showing that in detail. I wasn't sure how the flat metal pieces were fastened to the frame as I have never seen that part in person but panel pines makes sense.

Yes, I've thought this on many occasions. Tom's work is superb, and he obviously knows what he is doing, but bare steel straight onto wood, how can that have a long term future?

@@bobfrankish8883 hello bob where the steel meets it’s all had a light spray to help protect it. I’d expect the steel to be good for another 30 years + and in my opinion that’s pretty good. Like I said in the comment above if it’s sealed correctly and painted properly this will add to the protection.
