Amazing tool piece piece from what looks like a piece of steel rock that rolled off a iron ore mountain somewhere! Your spindle looks and sounds different to mine, is it a Hq500 spindle or have you modified it? Doesn't have that annoying clanging between the spindle drive shaft and the pulley mesh.

Hi Paul. If you change the V-belts to a brand name then the noise goes away. The OEM belts used to annoy me so I have replaced them both. My spindle is stock standard. I did add a spindle seal as the bearing was exposed. I made a video about it. 👍

PS: Thank you for the compliment. It turned out pretty good and straight. I love my fly-cutter, it cuts anything.

Also would like to know more about your coolant, I see you have a liquid coolant jet. Are you not worried about rust on these machines?

Using coolant is inevitable and it does cause flash rust if you leave it to dry on the machine. Evaporust or oil sorts the rusting issue.

@@improviseddiy Have you built a coolant pan under your machine? I bought some aluminium sheeting and that the next plan. I'm gatvol of chips flying everywhere. What coolant mix do you use? Are you using compressor to pump air and suction the coolant or just pumping coolant

@@paulrodrigues5562 I am using Aran water soluble oil. I am using a large rectangular plastic tub (makeshift chip tray) mounted underneath the top of my stand which drains into a 25 litre container. The coolant is fed by an ornamental fountain pump (25w). The mist cool setup has health risks involved. The flood coolant is messy, so I don't use it often. 🤔

@@improviseddiy Where do you get aran water? I'm thinking compressed air till I get tray installed. Didn't realize pressurized water oil was bad for your health. Pond pump it will be then.
