Making a Leather Purse
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I used some different techniques making this bag/purse. The front piece of the purse is slightly bulking out, due to the lapped seam. This creates a more round look. Also I pre-punched all the holes on all pieces, which is incredibly useful on some items.
Materials used:
-Pull up shoulder 2.5mm
-Contact adhesive
-0.6mm tiger thread
-Beeswax for burnishing

Very nice. Thanks for the inspiration.
Muito bom, você é muito organizado. Parabéns.
Agein. It is always nice to watch your video, so orginised. Thank you. Do you have the pattern of this purse? I would like to make one of this. Fil month ago i had just started to work with leather, and tougth it is too hard for me. but now i feel like i want to try to make this nice purse. If you could please.
Great video! Just a question: which parts are you sewing from 15:25 to 18:10? It seems to be side and back, but you’re sewing front side with skin side of leather pieces instead of skin to skin side.
I like your workshop space. It's as small as mine.
That's great.. well done
Very interesting I learn more thanks for your show.
Thank you!
Very well done, excellent camera work. It makes a nice change to be able to watch the process without bring assaulted by someone's idea of a great music background

@@UpcomingJedi Have you ever dealt with death on a personal level? I'm pushing 70 years old, I've had a son burn to death, yes burn to death. Music is more than background noise to me. I'm a retired biologist and Neo-Darwinism as taught every where is a joke. 10 million years for a cow like land creature to turn into the largest creature that ever lived is beyond what neo-darwinist processes could ever do. DNA has the ability to rewrite its program. That ability did not evolve, it was built in, hence Intelligent Design. Not one single scientist has dared to try to refute the nano-chemist's intelligent design hypothesis, not one. Dr. James Tour.
If the woman that's getting/has gotten this purse should never leave him, because this is a lot of work. Can't wait to do one myself... But I know she won't leave lol😄

Youll probably have to buy the pattern to get them. Otherwise, just use printer paper to make a pattern on your own to transfervto leather.
May i know the type of the closure used?
Nice work! What kind of leather is that? The link says the page is not available

How did you account for the holes around the corner of the bag when pre-punching? Because I would imagine the front and back has less holes around the corner than the gusset, yes?
@KinnariLeather
5 жыл бұрын
The gusset, front and back piece have the same amount of holes. It seems weird, but the gusset stretches while bending it. Try it on a small pouch. Make the holes on the front piece first, count them and then cut a strip of leather (longer than you need) for the gusset and make the same amount of holes, then trim the gusset just behind the last hole. And there you go, once you stitch them together, they fit perfectly.

It is actually a tool used to burnish the edges of shoes. But I honestly don't know what it is called...

Just out of curiosity.. What would something like this sell for? If you don't mind my asking how much were materials and total time invested?

The materials aren't that much, maybe 40$. Total time was about 6-8 hours.
