I applied several layers of paper mache to smooth everything out. You can use sandpaper to achieve a smoother surface as well!

You can use any other kind of thin paperboard, similar to a cereal box. You can find this sort of material in a lot of food packaging/ cartons, but you can also buy some at craft stores!
