This year there will be a lot of high power projects. I am currently working on a 2kW scooter with car-thick wheels thickness ... As you may have noticed, I also changed the channel name from MN to full name. Some have associated the channel with location or city markings (such as Minnesota). Now there will be no mistakes. Happy New Year!

I've been making various types of belt sanders for over 30 years now, and I've always found that belts track best on convex rollers. Even on my first 1" sander, made from wood and skateboard wheels, I put a slight crown on the urethane. From what I could see, your excellent machine does have a little belt wobble that crowning the rollers would fix. Thanks for showing us your work-

I agree the tension wheel needs to be crowned to aid tracking. It’ll be a simple job on his lathe. I built a 2x72” belt grinder and the crowned tracking wheel is a must for keeping the belt inline.

A word to the wise, I've worked in manufacturing for a decade, you do not wear gloves or loose-fitting clothing when you operate Hands-On Machinery like a drill press or a band saw because if your hand or clothes happens to get close to the machine, it can get a hold of it and rip your finger off, or worse. I've seen it happen. I saw a lady with long hair that wouldn't wrap it up and she was working on a grinder and it got tangled up in the grinder and ripped half her scalp out of her head.. it is good to wear gloves when you're dealing with sharp objects but not when you're using machinery..

Nice build I just have three critiques, one minor, and two major. The first major you have 2 set screws holding 1.5 kW motor shaft to a drive roller. I seriously suggest you cut a proper key way into the adapter. The second is using glue alone to hold bearing on a shaft that does not have a tight interference fit is not a good idea. Just cut some grooves for a pair of c-clips on either end, that would be more secure. The Minor. Those brass sliding bushes you made will work way smoother on polished Steel shafts. Dissimilar metal combinations have lower coefficients of friction so slide smoother and are less likely to gall. Again nice work.
