    +Vintage Jewelers & Gifts I would have liked more close ups of the detail work. Every time I have paid to have work done it's either been a rip off on the gold or substandard work that later I just want to scrap. I have an extensive collection of gems I would like to find someone to help with setting in jewelry.

    +Vintage Jewelers & Gifts Is rose gold worth more than traditional yellow? I have a lot of my grandmothers jewelry after she passed and quite a bit is rose gold. Just curious.

    Trey Nathaniel - Rose gold is worth the same as yellow or white gold - but fashion changes. In the 1920's rose gold was very fashionable, then yellow gold became more popular til the 1990's - and everyone switched to white gold. Today white gold is still the most popular choice for wedding rings, but rose gold has become very popular again, as has yellow gold.

    As a man who who never worn any jewelry besides a walmart watch, this was amazing to watch. Amazing craftsmanship! You keep making these and i'll keep watching. Would love if they were a bit more in depth. Maybe even consider making some jewelry from popular films and video games, like Man at Arms but with jewelry. I think that would do extremely well on KZread. Subscribed!

    The average viewer of videos such as this would not have the patience to watch a video of that length. The sheer amount of time involved in some pieces is part of the reason why jewellery can cost so much.

  • @kathryncastanares525

    @kathryncastanares525

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@liammurphy7140 although that is completely true, I feel the average person watching jewelry making SPECIFICALLY wouldn't mind watching the longer videos as most would already be aware of the time and work that goes into it and if not, will learn what all it takes to create the pieces they're wearing and hopefully realize why it costs so much for some pieces etc. I am honestly tired of hearing people complain that a ring hand engraved with milgrain details etc. Made out of gold or platinum "costs way too much for a small piece of metal" etc. They don't realize the time and amount of skilled craftsmanship it takes and or don't think about the cost of precious metals either. I could go on. Anyway. Just think it would be nice to have more videos of the details etc to educate people more. Other than that, I do agree with you as an average KZread watcher, they won't have the patience to sit thru the entire process. But for someone actually interested in it, would/should be happy to watch a longer video.

    Your work is impressive! Your studio/workshop area is pretty incredible! I love that you have random wholes on the side of your table just to hold up your wood sticks. Incredible! Hopefully I can, eventually... design a studio working area for making my crafty jewelry. I got into cutting bottle caps into pendants and up-cycled metal. And want to work on cutting glass bottles repurposing them. Love watching you work! It inspires me to come up with a clearer goal for my work space and process of manipulating soft metal/up-cycled metal to what ever I see it as. This is Beautiful!

    But all jokes aside thats a really amazing job, I do watch repair and occasionally try some silver( gold is toooooo expensive to "waste") and even a simple things prove to be a lot harder then it looks. As for engraving- there are some things thats just totally impossible. Looking at your work piece- fascinating. Looking at your work piece after you tried to make something, spend a lot of patience, frustration, efforts and much more- make you really, really apreciate it even more.

    Very impressive pattern making with the, uh air chisel? I'm really happy to have found this video. I was searching for different ring designs in rose gold, for a ring I would like to make for my wife. I was a little bit down about buying just the solid round gold filled/gold wire at Rio Grande or someplace similar and pretty much making a basic ring without any features. I don't really have the time or money to cast anything right now, or buy casting materials. I have the blue wax and an oxy/mapp torch but do not have the mold materials or a way to force fill the mold, by say, spinning it. Yet, I wanted to be able to carve a design with a couple of escapement and needle files, etc. I was worried that it wouldn't turn out. This gives me hope, mounds of hope. I'm sure it's just years upon years of practice, but I digress, thank you. Z.S.Hodge
