Its hard
from a beatmaker that makes beats for 10 years. the most important aspects are 1) melody (a full melody has all frequency ranges, low , mid ,highs. that way your melody will sound full) Special tip: Almost ALWAYS put fx on your melodies. it gives them depth. 2) sound selection is king to everything. from the smallest percussion to the piano to the kick to everything 3) arrange your beat until you hear it and its not boring. the typical intro 8 bars - chorus 8 to 16 - verse 16 - chorus 16 - outro 8 or 16 is a place to start. Special tip: study what they do in the genre you are trying to make, dont try to re-invent the wheel. keep it basic (the arrangement) 4) simpler is better. make music until it sounds good to YOUR ear cause its YOUR music. special tip: if you wanna put and listen to your own stuff as you listen to others people music this is the ultimate thing showing you that you like your music. those from my experience make up 90+% of everything. the rest are details.
Love this - seeing someone being real - documenting and sharing the authentic process.
Love this😭 lil word of advice, sound selection makes up 85% of a beat, so try to find some dope free kits (for now) that fit your specific genre (or the genre you're aiming for). Your melodies are getting better, and your way of humming how you want your beats to go/sound are hella good honestly.

learning is about trial and error. if you are genuinely passionate about making music, you will learn to love the process. frustration is normal because we feel like its taking away time from creating when in fact those learning curves are also part of the creation process. hope this makes sense! would love to see you challenge yourself in making a beat in 30 mins, i'd def watch the whole video!

To me, the most important thing is to keep busy doing what you love to do,
Your on the right path and just keep working on it everyday even if only for 10 minutes, persistence is what it's all about.

@@JusticeTillett I don't know if this is terrible advice but since I suck at mixing I just started investing in various drum kits to give beats that something extra I was looking for. I think a good selection of sounds, drums or instrument wise does a lot of the work for you to bring your sound to that next level. So if you got the extra spending money I say look around for some great drum kits. With how smooth your sound is some Kaelin Ellis kits would sound great to start. Then you can just expand from there

@@JusticeTillett Work with the tempo. Listen attentively to all sounds so you can figure out some mistakes. Like in the aspect of the drums. Follow the timing of the metronome. Hope this helps. You can also learn more from other producers here on KZread.

Most dope. Much improvement from before.
this is actually a great base, I SEE the vision. the sound selection is always not that great in the beginning cause mainly of budget, because those plugins are expensive asf. try splice
Once you get better sounds you’ll literally skyrocket 🫡

@@JusticeTillett Exactly what you're doing! Over time you'll figure out what your preferences are. Do you prefer to make a drum pattern first or perhaps the melody? There's no wrong way, but I feel it's your individual path to traverse. Also, look at your strong areas and maybe tackle those tasks first, then follow up with the areas where you struggle. That way you feel you have most of your idea completed and you can figure out how to best learn and deal with the not-so-strong areas. I hope this helps!

You a real fast learner Ngl.. but I think it’s okay to start up with using loops and samples.. while doing yo piano lessons or prolly learning to play any instruments, (bts maybe) since that’s like the fundamentals of the game.. Personally I use Fl studio since ts easy to navigate and beginner friendly. I (recommend).. I also think u should watch some other successful YT producers.. they’ll help you learn to navigate your DAW faster and more effectively. And would really inspire you.. BIG SHOUT OUT. You lit 🐏🔥

Progress is happening. Two small tips for you. Change the colours of each track as it’ll make it quicker to sequence (it does to me anyway) and your drum sounds… I would try and find some free sample packs? It’s a big world of samples but try tracklib one shots. Good luck

Keep working on your drums and drum placement to get your rhythm tight. Try doing your drums with no quantization or nudge them off the grid so they don’t sound robotic. Start with the drums and then everything else
get yourself a speaker stand to bring them up the ear level.
The issues with recording Yourself and screan capture and then editing that together with good audio and looking good is currently yo difficult for Me. Also talking to the camera and making music that actually sounds good is also a problem, thats why Im just playing screan captures of My DAW projects and recording Myself over that while outside in the sun.
I like the progress! You've came a long way this sounds fire. What do you think of my beats? 😅
Nice vibe. Keep doing what you do. Some mistakes can be the best part of the music. I'd love to hear what you create a year from now. You're gonna be so much more confident in your work. Don't be overly critical of yourself, just let your God given talent shine.

Girl you're GORGEOUS!! Like you are so soooo beautiful. You look exactly how I want to look when I grow older. I'm surprised to see a female producer, I've never seen any on KZread or anything.
