Making a Folding Display Stand

My friend has a small business selling candles and earrings etc ( www.oredesignco.com ) and wanted me to build a folding display stand/plinth to take to markets to sell candles etc from.
I designed a simple system for a folding base that has registration points to lock the top into.
I made the whole stand from 2 sheets of 12mm ply and some lengths of pine.
She is going to paint the stand white and I am more than happy to pass on the painting to someone else!

Wow!!! I love the hidden magic of how it snaps right the hell together!!! ...Then to show off a little more, it locks so it won't fly open when carrying it! I NEED to make this!!! I would've loved to see your measurements. Also, I have a rotary saw, and a jigsaw, but no table saw. How can I make this same thing with the tools I have?

Lisa Lee I have no idea what the measurements were! I had a rough size to aim for and made it up from there but you could make it to suit yourself! It’s a pretty simple design, use a straight edge to guide your saw or work out the dimensions you need and some hardware stores will cut the plywood to fit. You could make the notched pieces that the rails on the top slot into from two pieces of trim glued together, maybe 1/2” x 1/2” and 1”x1/2” instead of cutting the notch in with the tablesaw if that makes sense? Sorry I made this years ago so don’t have any measurements! But you could just follow the same method for whatever measurements you need yours to be

I don’t, but I just made it up as I went I’m sure you can figure it out based on what size table you need

Cameron Lockett sorry! It’s long since gone, but it’s a pretty simple design, you can just tweak it for the size of display table you need!

Cameron Lockett (and by long since gone, I mean gone to the owner who sells candles at markets who then sold their business including the display table to someone else who I don’t know!
