It is great to see someone actually cleaning the mill scale and rust off the metal prior to welding. Cleanliness is the key to a good weld. By the way, I don't see you using any fume extraction. Welding fumes contain some dangerous gases. Flux core even more so than gas MIG.

Thanks for watching 👍
Its warms my heart to see you using scrap you've squirreld away for "some future project" to create something so useful for someone. Passing on some of the material cost savings is good of you too. Gotta support the blue collar folks, they make this country work!

I have my moments. 😂😂😂
Steel prices are out of site . I happened upon a facility that a friend has leased a building from and the place was a trailer or equipment attachment manufacturing plant and the owner retired and shut down . There are racks and racks of new steel that's has mill scale and lite rust , the steel sells for .70 cents a pound . I'm not telling anyone about the place . The great part about the place is it's on private property at the end of the road out in the country and the gate is locked at all times . I've been trying to find steel to build two trailers and the prices are unreal . I can grind the rust off as it's just surface rust . Now if I could find axle sets I'd really being doing great . Great video Derek keep up the good work and I hope you are making headway with your Hydraulic System upgrades .

Brother awesome result considering the totally accurate blueprint you had. I can see a lot of fabrication on the horizon.

Great creation. A functional piece of art. You should have a way to put your tag on it with a label or a stamp or a name plate. I could see it become a collectors item for the scrap hunters in the future.

How much slack was in Da metal top bar you had to cut again? Did you know if you heat metal to the color candy apple red (1 inch circle) and apply a wet sponge to it the metal shrinks? You could have done that multiple times. 😊 💖 from Minnesota 😎

It was not much but was enough to where I thought I should cut it and tighten it up. Thanks for the in of I will try that next time.

not always easy to weld 90° angles even with a magnetic square. Do you use a MIG welder with or without gas?

I have both but my go to is my flux core its is portable and more forgiven with dirty metal.
You're a hell of a scapper but you're not quite a fitter welder yet. Keep grinding and watch some KZread videos like IC welding he's one of the best.
