It was so hard for me to start producing and its also very hard to keep producing and not to fall in that rabbit whole of "all of my music sucks and im never going to play live anywhere" And your videos pulled me out of that mindset a couple of times im so thankfull for that

How do you pitch from major to minor and be in key?

fantastic question, so major keys and minor keys actually have the same exact note structure as each other, they just start at different places in that structure. So take C maj for example: its root note is C, and goes cdefgabc. then let's take A min, the root note is A, and goes abcdefga. they're the same exact notes, they just start at different places and are generally just contextualized differently and interpreted differently. So this means that if you have a sample in G min but you're in C maj, you just do some mental gymnastics and think "C maj is the same as A min, so all I gotta do is pitch the G min sample up by 2 semitones to get to A, and boom you got it in key

I mean I've been producing for like almost 9 years now so I've made pretty much every EDM subgenre you can imagine at least once hahaha, so eventually (maybe like 6 years in) I started really seeing every song and what its core elements are and how to recreate that. Especially in EDM, the concepts that define most subgenres usually just revolve around drums, BPM, groove and energy levels + maybe some music theory stuff. So once you're able to dissect that in your head you can make just about anything hahaha
