Making a Buttstock Cuff for Lever Action Rifle | ARCHIVED VIDEO

FROM THE ARCHIVES
Another quick build video. This time I use blue painter's tape to make a quick and rough template of a buttstock. The technique can be used for similar irregularly shaped objects.

What a cool way to make a template. I wouldn't have ever thought of using blue tape. I'm truly impressed.

Thanks! This is an old video I did a couple years ago. I just thought it was worth adding to the KZread channel.

Wow!! Great work man. I've made a few of these in the past, but never had enough imagination to use tape. 🙄 After watching this last night, I used your method and it went great. Sent your link to a buddy. He's doing the same thing today. I especially enjoyed and appreciated how you don't go into a lot of useless commentary. Just letting your camera and your hands do the talking. You gained a new subscriber! Be well! Roger

I’m in the process of making one of these now. I appreciate the detailed video! Do the brass eyelets scratch the stock over time? I’m trying to preserve a walnut stock on my 45-70 and would hate to do more harm than good. Thanks!

Question for doing cartridge loops - I am using Tandy dye and then resolene sealant. I have found if I leave cartridges in the cartridge loops in a rifle buttstock wrap, where the leather is touching the cartridges turns green - any suggestions for making this not happen?
