That is a beautiful plane, James. In fact, I think I can say without fear of contradiction that plane may be the most beautiful scrubber that I have ever seen.

That is what this channel is all about. The other channel is the how to channel where I do the talking. If there is a video here there is a matching one there with teaching.

Hi, what a beautiful plane, someday I will make mine, what radius did you give to the blade and what angle did you give to the bevel? I am restoring a Stanley no.40 and it has a straight blade and I want to leave it curved, greetings from the end of the world, Santiago de Chile

for the radius I like the corners to be 1/8" back so I set the dividers so they touch the middle at the tip and the sides back about 1/8"

Awesome scrub plane :) I am a novice and hold the flat back of the marking knife to the square with most of the edge of the marking knife to the wood. Since you use more of the point, is this from experience with using a minimal amount of the blade edge or for another reason?

yes with the marking knife you are generally only using the tip. there are a few places I would use more of the blade. but for marking on a square just the tip is needed.

Hi, What material and color is used to protect the wooden handle of gardening and kitchen tools that come into contact with water

for water there is nothing that is prefect. some people like to use a simple oil like Boiled linseed oil. it is easy to restore but needs to be restored from time to time. the most durable is a varnish, but that is much harder to be restored when it goes bad. most people for hands tools use Boiled linseed oil
