I have a couple of questions :): (1) How long have you been producing, did you start with 'vintage' gear? If not when did you switch over to it? (2) What's your process for tracking out into a DAW? I've been working with a 2000/ s950 and have recently bought a Yahama MG10xu but currently everything I make is trapped in this gear. I'm finding good quality guides/ advise hard to come by online, so would be interested to know what you do?

1) I started making beats 8 years ago on FL Studio, didnt like the work flow of „clicking together“ beats and soon bought a NI Maschine MK1. I was then working with this Maschine for like 2 years until I copped my Akai MPC 2000XL back in December 2013. So I made the switch to „vintage“ gear a little more than 6 years ago. By the end of 2014 I bought my Akai S950 which I then used in combination with the MPC for another year and a half until I finally copped my SP1200 in 2016. 2)I‘m constantly trying to improve my mixing out as well, currently I‘m tracking out the channels separately, from my mixing board, recording into my Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 interface. Then do the finishing touches within my DAW. Right now I’m using the Maschine MK1 software but thinking of making the switch to ableton. Thanks for your questions, I hope I could answer it all :)

Maybe just me. But loved the placements of the subtitles.. whole thing was Dope !!!
Don't know what's cooler...the beats or the editing of the subtitles 😂😎👍
that main sample is fire,,, all i gotta say is that quincy produce the heck outta that person you sampled and had dave grusin on keys and greg phillinganes on synth bass. Im trying to not break the dj sample code by revieling the sample, but giving appreciation on sampling a nice dreamy cut!!!!
Always an extreme pleasure to watch your uploads, lovely trademark knockin snare with dreamy main sample and deft horn licks.

If you have good taste, you need only practice, practice and practice. Even the @BooooooomBox need a practice and he have a loot of time practicing befere he relase something. Some people will be need 100h of training to reach for example "level 2", and the other people will be need 150h to get the same level. You need training in everything!!!

@@frankjamesbonarrigo7162 he's truncating (editing or erasing) the unwanted parts of the drum break and keeping what he wants into individual one-shot sample hits. Setting the SP 1200's Sequence Auto Correct to Hi Res, followed by holding down the repeat button simultaneously with whichever button the sample is assigned to of choice. (1-8) will allow you to hear any unwanted audio present before the actual zero-point line (start) of the kick, snare and hihat samples.

Love your videos Do you think you will buy the sp2400?
@ChiefRugged
4 жыл бұрын
thanks man! I don‘t think that I‘ll buy one. I think it‘s a cool project and it’s really gonna help a lot for bringing others into the beautiful world of that 12bit sound. but for me owning a 1200 I can‘t make out any benefits from copping a 2400, it doesn‘t have a feature I‘m eagerly missing on my 1200.
@E_Rico
4 жыл бұрын
BooooooomBox that makes total sense. I would also love to buy a 1200 but my money says otherwise lol. Do you think it’s worth me getting a 2400 instead of the 1200?
@buckbumble
3 жыл бұрын
@@E_Rico the S2400 has more standard features that you would find in most samplers nowadays. Plenty of outs, headphone jack, higher bit rate sampling, way increased sample time. The workflow is quicker and you don’t have to use your creativity as much with the sp1200. Not as much character as the sp1200 though.
@E_Rico
3 жыл бұрын
@@buckbumble wait are you saying you have less creativity with the 2400 or 1200?
@buckbumble
3 жыл бұрын
@@E_Rico less personal creativity with the S2400 purely because you have so many more features. You have the option of 24 bit or higher or 12 bit sampling, plus you can cut up to 1tb SD card in it. You can get damn close but I don’t think anything will replicate the feel and sound of the 1200.
I miss my sp 12 just got a mpc one the pads suck
