We have almost the exact same setup, I recently got a live 2 and was looking at the ssi interface. The Yamaha monitors have been in my amazon wish list forever now, I'm just waiting till they go on sale again. Also recently purchased a MacBook Air. Obviously we have good taste in gear. Cause I'm gonna get this plug in also, it sounds so clean.

Probably be a more authentic work flow linked up to a Midi Keyboard that has the fades and buttons, probably a MPK 249 will do.

To me it just lacks that hardware touch in its design (I get around this by running my sounds thru my s20)

I feel it's much better to use your normal workflow and then add a SP950 effect plugin (from wavetracing) on channels. Did you try both?

They have slightly different algorithms. I’ll say the rx1200 is more authentic sounding than sp950 but you’re absolutely right it is a lot easier to just throw it in a bus channel

I believe wavetracing is in the process of making a full blown sp950 sampler plugin as well. I have both and I'll say, the move for me is to use the logic sampler and throw that guy on every channel. I've never used a real SP1200 so take my praise with a grain of salt, but it sounds cool to me and is way easier/faster to create stuff. I still like this plugin though and will likely continue to toy around with it to see if i can find a good flow with it. Maybe having a midi controller would help too

It's not 1 to 1, but it's pretty dang close. If you don't do a side by side comparison, you won't really be able to hear the difference in a track.
