What a great idea with the brass nail for the point!
I went to a plastic supply place and bought some 'Delrin' rods, which is a hard plastic. It won't mar the floor, well at least not as much as metal will. With this type of top, I have to spin it by putting it between both palms, rather than the snap your finger spin. I don't have the grip for that one.....
