    Im a all natural soap maker, from the UK, a couple of tips..infuse the Alkernet in olive oil before you soap, just add a small amount of the infused oil into your batter you want to colour. Doing this intenses the colour, Alkernet then will give you a dark pink to light purple colour depending on strength used. I love your Videos and enjoy all your topics. Keep doing what your doing and stay safe :) Julie

    When I use flowers or glitter or something like cranberry seeds on top of my soap I turn my soap on its side to cut it and it prevents the flowers or any topping from leaving drag marks through the soap.

    I just love to watch you make soap. Your soaps come out just beautiful! Thank you for the tip about ess oils and heating. Also, in a prior video you explained that a clay helps anchor in the smell. Thank you for that also!!! I am still a beginner and thank God for the heat transfer method because it works so well for me and it’s not time consuming! Also, you have more time to do want you want with the soap! It’s much easier, especially for a beginner because I am soaping around 84F and that helps slow down acceleration for me. Thanks again!

    Love the way your soaps turn out!! I use primarily 40/42 because it sticks in soap. I find the French Lavender kind of whimps out. I gel 'all' my soaps even those with essential oils so you shouldn't worry about that. I use all different ones like Litsea Cubeba and especially 5X orange, 5X lemon, 5X tangerine because of their strength and because they do not cause photosensitivity. I don't use grapefruit eo, that one is too weak for soap in my opinion. My favourites are patchouli light and dark and I make mixes with those and a few others. My go to place in Canada is definitely NDA as well they are so good. Thanks for sharing Jerika see you next video!! 💞

    So I have dabbled in natural colorants and most recently have been trying alkanet root. I was trying the infusion method and 2 things I learned; to get a vibrant color you need more than you think. Also having a batter as white as possible will help any natural color stay truer to it's original state. My 1st batch of alkanet turned a grayish purple. I added almost double the amount in my next infusion and I can tell a different already. It's going in the soap tonight! Wish me luck! 🖐

  • @maddierose2330

    @maddierose2330

    3 жыл бұрын

    No, you cannot. Food coloring is water based therefore it will not mix with the oils of body butters. In soaps it will discolor due to the saponification process. If you were to use food coloring in these products it will stain the skin. You will want to use micas, soap colorant drops, clays, etc. to color it. Soap queen has great videos about what colorants to use in what bath products. I would highly recommend checking out her channel. I actually tried it in cold process soap as an experiment once and it changed from pink to orange and then faded during the curing time to a nasty color. - Not a pretty result, but I had to see for myself what would happen.

    If you choose to add "100% natural" to any of your product latels, marketing or social media, be prepared with an answer when people ask you about it. If you don't, then you can easily say "I never say my products are 100% natural" and politely suggest they look elsewhere to purchase their products.
