Are you going to utilize the built in camera on the pillar? I have one of these that are broke and I'm looking to rebuild it, one thing I noticed is that it has a camera built into the pillar and I wanted to use that. The original board has an HDMI slot, but I can't find any aftermarket boards that support that.

unfortunately I never tried when I had that printer, the raspberry pi running Klipper does have HDMI so it might work

I like the build you did, but I have some concerns. First and foremost, the heat of the build platform will rise up and your RPi will not get enough cool air flow to cool down the processor. I wouldn't be surprised if it will overheat and shutdown on hot days. Second, H-bot is way inferior to CoreXY though because H-bot allows skewing of the X-axis and therefor adds wear on the linear guides and bearings. I'm in the process of designing a completely new system inside of my old Replicator 2x. I've already converted it to open source HW and FW, but now I realize that the whole system doesn't really live up to the expectations I had so it's time to completely take it apart again and add CoreXY to the system. Doing so will: - Add build platform space - Allow for three-point kinematically coupled bed leveling - Add height (as the top of the metal frame will be used to mount everything onto) - Allows for mounting the motors outside of the box for even more space I think your machine is already way better constructed than mine anyway so maybe in this case, with high-quality linear rails you might not need to switch to CoreXY, but it might be beneficial in the long run.

There is no heated bed on the replicator 2 so that is not an issues and the H bot kinematics for the printer work well at the speed it was made to print at. CoreXY is better for very high speed but I just wanted to keep this stock

I had a part fall off that has 6 corners, one of which concave. It has a spike pointing upwards on one side and two right angles on the other. On the back it has the number 2 on the pointy end and R1 on the non pointy end. There is a piece on the back that looks like a hook attached to a box on the other end. I cannot find it on any diagrams. Could use some help figuring it out please

Can I have your klipper config? I’m trying to do pretty much the same thing as you, but the steppers in my machine are just buzzing and not moving

Usually that means your wires are wrong, you need to swap two of them, config is on my github github.com/rolohaun/Replicator5-Klipper

Just out of curiosity, why not re-use the old click wheel and buttons? Couldn't you wire them to the RPi GPIO (I'm guessing it's just an encoder and momentary buttons?) It wouldnt add a whole lot when you have atouch screen, but I Imagine it may be easier to scroll through files or adjust temperatures with the wheel than the screen alone... Great mod btw, I'd love to do this with the Makerbot at work to get it giving us some quality prints!

I am sure you could do that however I just added the screen really because the space was there, Klipper does not really have support for those functions. I mainly use the web interface for the most part.
