Make Your Tape Measure 4x More Accurate
Increase the precision and accuracy of your measurements even with a tape measure. The idea is simple. Amplify the measurement, for example by measuring four boards pushed together instead of one, take a measurement, then divide by the total number of boards.
This will allow you to measure down to the nearest 1/64th of an inch rather than 1/16th of an inch with a typical tape measure.

Nice and quick video. Ideas like this are what woodworkers have used for millenia. So yes! We do need to learn them.
Go with metric system.
Nice idea
When I have a 45 deg angle , expect my old friend, root of 2, to show up. I don't know about you but I prefer "rational" friends.

Yep, the formula I used simplifies to root 2 times x Distance = √(2x²) = √2 * √(x²) = √2 * x
