I am told Chuck Meadows made the first one for Gina K. Here is a video of her mentioning him:

I am not selling these. This is for personal use only. There are many different versions on Etsy. This is only one of many ideas I have seen. You can find retailers on Etsy or use an air hockey handle.

    Someone probably already told you but Gina K has a friend lamed Chuck who made the first one for her. She named it the Chucks Tool in his honor. It was a hit with others and they asked him if he would be interested in making and selling more. He wasn’t interested in doing so. Instead, he told everyone how he made it so they could make their own or get someone to make it for them. He did recommend usingwhat you did - the pads used to move furniture. He used a furniture finial for the handle. I think your idea is inspired and I now wish I collected Yankee candles!

    Hi Nancy. I am so glad you made a video for this tool. I want to make one but I don't know how. The closest town that would have any supplies is a 1/2 hour drive for me & I don't own a car anymore lol! I think this is an awesome tool for people like me who have arthritis. I also have neck & back issues from a car accident I had at 15.. Pulling & pushing make them hurt so I think this would be a great tool to have. I'm 55 & way too young to have this kind of issues with my body! Watching your happy mail, I'm loving the hello card with all the rainbow foil on it that somebody sent you along with some paper to try. Wow! It's spectacular!

    Oh my gosh, that’s exactly the way I made mine about four weeks ago. I also made one for my mom. I used a glass candle jar lid that is a little bit wider and flat. I think it came from a jar candle from Walmart. Then I went to Lowe’s and got the furniture sliders, but I got the circular ones that are slightly bigger than the candle lid. . I put the black, slick, foam side down and used E-6000 glue to glue the glass candle jar lid to the top. It works like a dream and I am getting much better stamped impressions and not hurting my wrist so much, as sadly, I am starting to develop a little bit of arthritis. I am giving one to my mom for Mother’s Day. I think mine cost a total of four dollars and that was for the slider pads from Lowe’s. Do not buy the slider pads that have the white plastic bottoms; those are for moving furniture on carpet and are the wrong kind. You want to buy the ones for wood floors.

I also made a smaller one for mini stamp press with Bo Bunny glitter paste jars. I cut out some mat board into the shape that I need. I used 3 M strong double stick adhesive sheets and cut out some fleece and made different size Chuckie tools. Possibilities are endless of what you can recycle and make your own stamping tools. Oh that's cute! I have been searching for the lids so I can make one for a while now. I knew they'd be easy enough to make and customize, and much cheaper. I know people make candles somebody's got to sell them. I have a lot of trouble with my hands, so this would help a lot! I may have found one place that sells them but I have to check. I've been planning on trying to make one but I have no jar candles. I even went to my Dollar tree because somebody in a hall had found jar candles with those kinds of lids at the Dollar tree but our Dollar tree stinks and they didn't have any. That is so super sweet of you to give one away and the extra glitter pack that is awesome!

  • @kristinagoodwin805
    @kristinagoodwin8053 жыл бұрын

    I’ve thought of it as an “extra”. However, the more I see them being used on videos, the more I consider it. It helps to keep the wrists in a more neutral position, and having carpal tunnel, neutral is good (no losing feeling or experiencing tingling in neutral!) Thanks for the tutorial; I didn’t realize they could be that easy to make! 😊

    I bought a tool like this specifically because I had a cling foam stamp that would not get a good impression (parts of the center of the stamp were not making contact even pressing on the top of the stamping platform.) I had to resort to placing card stock onto an inked stamp and rub the card stock onto the stamp. Couldn’t see very well to center it. LOVE this tool. Now I can easily get a perfect impression! If I had known it was a candle lid, I would have made my own, but then I would have to buy the candle. I would love the kit to make a gift for a friend!

    When I first saw these being used, I thought it was a great idea because it is hard to get even pressure sometimes. I even looked at these on Etsy and they were too much, especially when I knew how easy it would be to make your own, IF you had a glass lid. I didn't have anything that worked and didn't want to buy a glass jar and lid just for the lid, so I just started using a dry board eraser, but I would love to have one that's all sparkly and glittery and I absolutely loved your idea about putting beads or something inside. I would like to try glitter and shells. Funny fact, I even emailed Sweet Petunia, makers of the MISTI to see if they were going to create their own version, they said probably not. I think it's a great idea. I tried an eraser for a white board but it's way too flimsy. It's way more fun to have one you made yourself and on the cheap as well! Good for you for coming up with a fabulous idea!

    This is brilliant. I've been making one from wood and a glass knob, but it has been problematic (i.e., sinking the screw head, countersinking the bolt, etc.--not my area of expertise) this is exponentially easier! I'm on it!

    GREAT instructional video! I need to find a couple of Yankee candle tops, I gave away a bunch of candles and I wish that I'd kept even one so I could make one of these... You did a great job of showing and explaining so clearly how to make one of these and I appreciate it, Nancy!

    I really enjoyed your DIY on the Stamp Chuckie! I have been using a dry marker board eraser. It’s soft and runs across my stamp platform nicely, but, I have to provide the pressure with my kind of soft muscles and arthritic hands! I love the whole adding weight to the Chuckie - so I don’t have to apply all the pressure! I am so glad that you are giving away a kit including the glass lid! Why? - because I thought I would have to go and buy a Yankee Candle just to get the lid! (No - I don’t have any lids around the house!) I’m so glad that I have a chance to win the kit with the lid! Thanks for your many various videos! You have taught me so much, especially with toner and hot foiling! Take care! 😊💕

    What a great idea! I was just going through my moms stuff and she had a bunch of theses lids as she bought pretty toppers to go on her candles & wasn’t using them. I sure wish I would of seen this video about a month ago, although I did tell my daughter what could these be used for I guess I didn’t have my crafty brain on that day! I seen someone use a door knob this one would be prettier & easier on the hand. Thank you for sharing. I would definitely use one

    I got a glass candle from the Dollar Tree. The jar looks like the old time glass door knobs. I had a heavy box that I cut to fit the "top" of the jar, added some Crazy glue to the top and cardboard piece and sat a heavy iron on it. It looks good to me, the candle is a pretty green. Works for me. Yours is good too.

    I keep a swiffer sheet in my MISTI, so I never have to look for it when stamping. I think they are cute and clever, but I wouldn't want one (please exclude me from the drawing). Also, I just wanted to say thank you for improving my foiling by teaching me to DUST, I have never seen this before and it makes a huge difference!

    @@virginiaellison8227 Nancy takes a soft brush and dusts off the foil before placing it through the laminator or hot foil machine. Specks of dust cause the foil not to stick, my results have been amazing since I started "dusting". She calls it dusty- dusty

    I used a schoolboard eraser, but stil had to put pressure on it, your video made me have a second look at the little glass candleholder I use to hold water in for aqua painting. It has a flat bottom so I just glued a few layers of a cleaning cloth to the bottom and it works like a charm. 🥰 Now is has two functions. 🤣
