This is one the THE BEST tutorials I've seen! I've spent so much money trying to find the perfect planner and I'm so glad I saw this link in a Digital Planning Group. You are very thorough and you moved at a pace that allowed me to grasp and understand the instructions. I stayed up until the wee hours of the night working on my very first planner and although it's still a work in progress, I'm very happy with my first attempt. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

YES! THANK YOU! I watched countless videos before I came across this one - most of them were about designing on a macbook - I have a PC, and I feel like I have a good grasp on the basics now. I appreciate you editing this so that we could see exactly which icons you were selecting, etc. So many times, people will edit for aesthetics or pacing, and they just skip over the menu selections, which is something a beginner absolutely needs to see. You're great - and this is great!

Thank you so much. I decided this morning that my paper planner is not working well for me. I love my iPadpro and I want to learn how to make my own digital planner. Your videos are extremely compatible for my learning style and my limited skills and knowledge of technology. I am excited about the next step for me and that is to open Keynote!

Question: If we wanted to insert some "rings" - like the premade digital rings you can find on etsy, how would we go about importing them into this main slide, adjusting, and then locking it so that they'd be on each page? In addition, how would make an additional page (lets say a blank page with "rings") so that when the planner is in goodnotes and the user wants to duplicate the page, it will have rings as well? Sorry - i'm just learning how to do all this on my iPad! Thanks so much for this informative video!!!

Thank you for your videos, they are the most understandable of any I've seen. You mentioned that the size of the "canvas" is optimized for the screen you are using(ipad). Might you have any idea how to figure out what is optimum for an iPhone screen. I'd really like to use a digital planner for my phone. I don't have enough things to keep track of to justify a full size iPad planner but an iPhone planner would be perfect but none I've seen fit my needs. I've been using procreate although I'm no artist. Thank you for any input and/or advice.

Honestly the way I figured it out is trial and error. I made a single basic page exported it and noticed if I needed to make it wider or taller. Then repeated. It took awhile. With so many different devices including so make sizes of iPhones I recommend you just play around. Just a little tip figure out the size before spending hours on the planner because you will have to make changes.

Gr8 tip for thinking" outside of the box"; the only way I could get the text to rotate was to tap/hold on the text and physically rotate the ipad! Something I'm curious about... think my first planner was exceptionally beautiful (so pleased), but haven't any idea as to why it looked perfect in Keynote, but when I opened it in Goodnotes, the top tab was cut half off. SO disappointing! Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank You

I have heard this from one other person. It is all about the dimensions you are using in keynote. I suggest you play around with the side of your keynote. When I first started I would save different versions to see which one looked best. Every device is different. I also learned that when I make a vertical planner the dimensions are different too it isn't just reverse of what I had. It takes playing around.

How do you decide the slide size? I've seen so many different suggestions and think there must be some sort of conversion maybe based on the ipad size??? Curious, isn't 1024x768 actually the same as 4:3 ratio; I've had people suggest that as a "custom" size? All I know is the planner I created looked really great in KeyNote, but when I brought it into GoodNotes, my top tab was half cut off. Anyone have suggestions.... Thanks in advance

I just play around until I like it. There are different iPads and also different programs to use planners in and it all works differently. So I like to crest one slide export it see how it looks and go from there. I use GoodNotes which has a bar across the top which changes the 4:3.

I struggled too...but figured out that you have to have both fingers inside the textfield! Not on the blue dots😉 then it's easy😊
