The spinning version is a killer good reel. It's got a 40lb drag, 5 ss bearings holds a ton of line. Built like a tank & cast like a dream

Good video. I don't own one but looking into it or something like it. I assume that the magnetic side dial didn't do it's job. I was wondering if an exacto knife would fit in there to pop off the magnets without having to unscrew the magnet plate?

Umm...is there not a spool tension dial on that reel? That you can adjust?

I thought it felt like the magnetic brake was holding me back.....guess I thought right. I just went out to the garage and performed the operation on mine. I hope now I can hit 50 yds with a 10" pole floater, 7/8 oz of weight and a 4" bluegill.

I couldnt throw mine 20 ft with a 5 oz on it plus bait. After this I could get 40 yards with 2 oz weight

@@countryboysandcatfish1448 I just got one today and practicing with a 3oz I threw it pretty good way more than 20 feet.

Cool tip. How much weight do you throw with these? I'm looking to get one but wanna make sure it can launch 10oz of lead and bait into the river.

I use 8oz sinkers an have no problems at all spooling it off sense the modification

I watched your video on you removing those magnets, just what the hell are they in there for in the first place, that makes no dam sense at all, you mean their doing that in the factory, if those magnets are preventing that reel from working properly, quality control needs to seriously wake up

Don't do that to the reel because you will get a lot of backlash and bird nests

@@countryboysandcatfish1448 ya well if they don't backlash then it was never mint to a break system because I use abu Garcia reels and I have took them apart and forgot the magnet outside of the reel and win I wint fishing later I had the worst backlash of my life

@@countryboysandcatfish1448 the abu Garcia ambassador reels only cost $50 to maybe $100 but they also are very nice but my new reel is a Pacifica p4300 it used but works better than a abu Garcia lol

Yea spend three times the amount or take five minutes an make it throw like a conventional reel for no where near the cost

Also take that level wind assembly out. Then wow you won’t believe it. With both mods it will fly.
