    I use darktable and Gimp on a Linux system rather than Adobe software. However, I can easily translate these techniques to darktable. It give a new dimension to shooting in dull, overcast weather so a very useful video. Many thanks. subscribed.

    Hey Christian, what is the source of the light that illuminates the boat but not the pillar next to it or the water around it? I'm asking for a friend who understands how light works. Great job, but the way.

    Interesting tutorial, good explanations. For the masking. Where you want to “intersect” try only hold alt key. The buttons Add and substract will change. Its much faster and easier then going with full menu

    Some criticism. Reflection of the sky is brighter than sky itself. boat is a lot brighter than its reflection. This is not a photo anymore.

  • @godstrike12
    @godstrike126 ай бұрын

    Some nice techniques here, however as mentioned elsewhere in the comments the water reflections cannot be brighter than the sky. I would also add that the boat reflection on the water is now too dark compared to the hull adjustments you did. This is the danger of spot adjustments, go to far and it breaks the reality of the image.

    Thank you! What helped me the most was to try replicating the style of photos I liked by just playing with different sliders for hours. But if you want to get a basic understanding of lightrooms editing tools you can watch my Lightroom Masterclass Playlist here on my channel which is aimed towards beginners!

    Great video, first-time viewer. Can you tell me how/what you're doing to be able to select everything at one time, then removing them all together ??, I didn't know this was possible

  • @ThePhlogPhotography

    @ThePhlogPhotography

    6 ай бұрын

    Thank you so much! Do you mean during the masking process? Basically first you create a mask (for example select subject) you can then further adjust the mask by subtracting, adding or intersecting other masks with it and thus you can create very complex selections in your photos

    @ThePhlogPhotography No I'm actually referring to at the 11:00 minute mark when you go into Photoshop. You were removing several things and selecting them all together then deleting them all at one time. How were you able to select multiple areas to remove all together then delete them all at the same time ?? Hopefully that makes sense

    This is a great content & editing was good. But I think the horizon line is a bit tilted, so you had to rotate the picture slightly. Thanks again 🤍

    Debatable! this is a lake not the sea, if the far edge of the lake is not parallel to the viewer then it will not be horizontal.

    Problem here is that the reflection of the clouds in the water is brighter than the sky. That cannot happen.
