Make Star Wars Tantive IV Ship Panel from a Microwave

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today, I take apart a Microwave and build a panel inspired by the Star Wars Scene that started it all for me…on Tantive IV.
To date, I have never been able to use so much from the item I took apart in the making of a prop. In fact, I was able to make 2 props this time.

Nice. I've torn down microwaves before - usually for the capacitors - but the rest I never thought about using this way. Cool! 😎👍

Thank you. That’s awesome you are able to reuse the caps. I think one of the best part is that unneeded items find new life again.

Thank you so much. Out of curiosity, did your microwave look similar to mine when you tore it apart? And what did you plan to keep and use? And what kind of prop would you create or add?

pretty rad. I like to use a little bit of liquitex ivory black to weather 'clean' things; it is an awful paint for coverage but is great for a slight weathering for panel lines.

@@garlandsworkshop it is one of the weirder paints that in the liquitex line. As i typed horrible as a regular paint but perfect for slight weathering.

It will be rad to learn another weathering technique. Especially, since doing a cleaner rebel look felt so novel within my normal builds

Thx for the great info. Yea, the glue I used was terrible. It was like expansion foam. But I am still fine if the prop in general.

lol hospitals are a greeble treasure trove. You wouldn’t believe the amount of plastic waste that comes from all the sterile packaging. If you can find someone who works in a hospital to bring you (clean unused of course) stuff you’re golden.

Thx for the information. I love using the limited medical baubles I have used so far. But, based on your info, I think I need to double my efforts to investigate more medical items. Probably need to find the right keywords for searching online thanks again !!!
