Make Rusk For Sausages In A Few Easy Steps | Gourmet Woodsman
Rusk is a must have ingredient to make British bangers. If you can't find rusk you can make your own with a little flour, a pinch of salt and some baking powder. In this video I'll follow Scott Rea's method for making rusk and it couldn't be much easier. #SRP

I'm just a guy making sausage, Scotts a pro!
I have been subscribed to Scott's Channel for years. He has a lot of amazing videos on butchering all different kinds of animals as well. Also, really enjoy your channel.

I love Scott's content, I've been following him for years as well🤙
Your channel is my go to for this type of content and I love the dry humor. British Bangers are definitely my favorite sausage, I have made them 3 times using different recipes and I am looking forward to your version. That being said, I don’t care if I could buy yeasted bread and toast it and nobody would know the difference. I will be making this next time I make Bangers, I usually use fine plain breadcrumbs and never thought of looking up on how to make rusk. To me cooking is about enjoyment, and doing something completely from scratch is part of that.

I also enjoy the cooking process and like making things from scratch when I can. The last time I made beef wellington I made my own puff pastry, not because I had to but because I wanted to. Making rusk is a lot easier than making puff pastry!🤙
Greasing the pan before laying in the paper is so the paper stays put and doesn't curl up on itself

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
Too much work I would just go buy plain stuffing mix or croutons

Sausage is also easier to buy than it is to make.

@@gourmetwoodsman Yea but tastes better its just easier to buy some ingredients!!
Dude, rusk is literally means twice cooked bread, you know, like - toast, or store bought bread crumbs, you don't have to go through all that b.s.

Rusk for sausage is usually yeastless, more like a biscuit without fat than twice cooked bread or bread crumbs. Besides, it really wasn't that hard to make.✌️🤙

@@gourmetwoodsman Why don't you make 2 small batches of sausage, 1 with your rusk and 1 with bread crumbs, then tell me what the difference is in the taste test comparison.

@pattayaguideorg Great idea! I'll do that. I'm planning on making a few banger videos and I've already been working on the first one. I'll do this taste test for the second video. Thanks for the suggestion.

@@jimbop4499 As a professional sausage maker myself, with hundreds of recipes and having literally made tons of sausage from all over the world and selling it, I find your ignorance laughable! Dude.
I must have a go at making this, never been really happy with dried milk or potato starch. And i love fat brit bangers!
