Make Potassium Chlorate from house hold chemicals

In this video we make Potassium Chloride from bleach and Potassium Chloride.
This isnt an efficient method of potassium chlorate synthesis though but the reactants are easily available as sodium hypochlorite is available as bleach and potassium chloride is available as No salt.
Potassium chlorate is very useful as it is one of the strongest oxidizing agent used in laboratory.
be safe in home during this pandemic season and try to watch all my videos.
This video has been recorded and edited with much effort and difficulty. Lack of proper equipment and chemicals can make video look unfinished. I request your love and support in donations also.

One tip to increase the yield: When you boil down the hypochlorite solution, once crystals start forming, add water again, boil it down again until crystals for. Add water again, boil down again. Longer boiling forces more hypochlorite to turn into chlorate. I usually repeat this step 3 times.

Nice video btw do another recrystalization then you can get more pure product. The thing is even very small amount of sodium can give yellow colour.

Hello, I have a kind of salt. I don't know what kind of chloride it is, but when it touches a flame, it pops. It's table salt, but when it melts, any kind of salt pops.
