At 13:30 the song sampled is "Jaat Kahan Ho" by Surshri Kesar Bai Kerkar, an indian raga song. Very cool transformation!

I think the low mic quality when you were making the piano samples only added a dreamy effect to it instead of making it sound like crap.

I thought that by having Clouds, I didn't really need Morphagene. You really changed my mind sir...

I friggin' love the combination of the gorgeous old piano and the modular tech. It's a match made in heaven. I needs me a Morphagene.

I just bought the 0-coast mainly because of your walkthrough and now im pretty sure I need this in my life because of your video. Your videos are really superbly done sir.

This video convinced me to get a Morphagene, and it added a whole new dimension to my setup. But more importantly, this is a video that I can just watch for fun or in the background, because it's well-made and informative, and the sounds and examples are just plain nice. Well done, Mylar. :)

I experienced this unit in person at the MakeNoise HQ today, mind blown. Great folks in there, too, an overall wonderful experience.

Fabulous video. You do such an amazing job of breaking these modules down. That piano sounds wonderful.

It really has been a life changing module. And I love your video. Ace.

Reminded me of Steve Reich too - the violin piece has parallels to Different Trains. Nice.

It's also used in Carl Sagan's Cosmos. It's probably famous but I am too thick and uncultured to know it.

Best and most-tape-music-ish demo I've seen of this yet. Even better than over on the Make Noise channel, and they do pretty consistently good demos! That piano is fabulous. Have you heard Julianna Barwick, or better yet, been to one of her hypnotic gigs? This seems like her kind of vibe too

The SOS with the piano is wicked, nice work!

The Rode NT-3 mic works nice with the Morphagene (because it can be battery powered).

I've been looking longingly at this thing forever. I keep thinking, "yeah but at that cost, I could almost get an MPC one or some full sampler workstation" At 8:13 though, okay you win morphagene!😄

Robert Syrett The catch which holds the sheet music holder on this makes one of the best sounds ever when you flick it - BEOWWWP

I would love to have a Morphogenetic, seems to be just the thing for the way I want to work with sound. There’s no way I can afford one however, so, I plan to adopt the approach you mentioned in a more recent video. I have a modular, I have modules, in particular Disting Mk 4 for delays, clockable etc, and Clouds. I can use this video as an inspiration for ways to use modules I already own. Thanks for the guidance and inspirational videos Alex, keep up the excellent work! 😎

NIce chords and piano sounds i just wish it cost £250 then i would really consider buying one but it is high quality for sure 32 bit wow! I have experimented with my Edirol r-09HR 96k 24bit recordings and speeding them or slowing them down, its great fun for finding weird sounds like slowing birdsong down for example, they sound like dinosaurs lol, having all this functionality plus cv and more in one box is amazing, Cheers

This is incredible and again the obsession kicks in..but I own a Kaoss pad 3 sampler with granular sampling and a Mutable clouds..Im sure If I combine the two with some modulation, can get something similar...gives me some time to save for it :)

Actually, the granular feature isn't really necessarily a nod to modern sampling. It was first implemented in the tape medium, albeit as a very painstaking and slow process.

Can you imagine, going to a room with an array of speakers, and hearing little tiny snips of Xenakis music all around... in 1960?! Crazy. I’m sure most people weren’t even able to parse what it was.

I think a better microphone would have detracted from the vibe of the piano stuff. "Better" isn't always better.

Damn I just watched DivKid’s superbooth 2019 vid where the dude demos Arbahr and it looks cool as shit, but I can’t decide which one I think would be a better fit for me... I like the way you interact with the Arbahr, with the almost tape reel controls at the bottom, but I think this module has its own charm to it and the fact it records in 32 bit is pretty dope. I’m gonna have to do a lot of research into these...
