Man, I wish I had known how to make group shirt listings before I actually did! I made the listing on Printify first. Sounds so much easier to start it in Etsy!

Go find 10 bestselling group shirt listings and see how most of them are doing their pricing! This is the best way to make sure what you are trying has a great chance for success! Best of luck

I have one more question - now that Monster scales down for Small and Medium bella 3001 as well as other products, how do you size your design in the mockup generator? I noticed you eyeballed the design and sized it down but how does that work if your shirt is set up to automatically fulfill? Do any of your customers who ordered Medium or Small shirts find their design is too small after you have scaled it down - and then Monster scaled it down again? I know this doesn't affect Large sizes and above, but I had a customer receive a tiny little design on a small shirt right after Monster (in January) decided to start scaling down and I didn't know about it. Wondering how you scale so your customers are getting consistent designs sizes on shirts? Do you have a formula or a guideline you use? Thanks!!!

@@eternity6615 That's a good question, I usually make my designs on the medium/large side in comparison to a small design and just eyeball it so it looks like it would go past the neck opening on both sides and call it good. I have never had anyone get a tiny design before/complain. I'd say if you are worried about it, just make the design a littler bigger than you think you need too!

I wouldn't recommend doing digital and physical products within one store like that. I think visually it might be confusing and then you are also showing say your bestselling shirts right next to a mockup for sale to a person who is also trying to create bestselling shirts. I would do these two items in separate stores. If you sell say shirts, sweatshirts, mugs and tote bags, then I would do it all in one shop.

Very well explained. Last fall I was making group Xmas shirts and spent dayyyys pouring over other people’s listings trying to figure out how they listed group shirts with so many variations 😳 I do wish Etsy allowed more than 2 variants on a listing!

Thanks for this. How do you erase part of the design when placing designs on mockups without using Photoshop? Is there a way to do this in Canva? This is something I struggle with when trying to place designs in the perfect spot, especially on the back of a hoodie if the hoodie comes to low and I want part of the design under the back of the hoodie to make it look more real.

People have it listed at the bottom of their Etsy profile, some people have it the name of the company but most people name it something else.

I was using the Go Daddy Studio App, that app has a "masking tool" that you can erase little bits with. I didn't realize Canva doesn't have that or I would have mentioned it. Currently I still make all my mockups on the Godaddy studio app, and make my designs now on Canva.

Hi love the videos they are a great help. I am looking to do a listing that contains a hoody for a person with a hoody for a dog. So they would sell as a package could you please do a video about how to combine 2 completely different items into one group please.

If you are looking for video ideas, i would love to see a video on how get designs posted quickly. I've heard Jarran say that in the group (which I think you were probably in), they would do challenges of posting 50/day!!! Not sure if that's a real number or if it's after days of prep to get there, but i'd love a video on efficiencies in posting. LOVE.

I don't know if this is true but I heard a story about someone who logged into peoples accounts to help with SEO, and one of the people got a trademark infringement and because they had been logged into at same IP address before, it caused issues for them.

I do usually offer the 3001Y yes but because MD doesn't offer it, I usually use SwiftPOD! Definitely makes the most sense to combine shipping!

So glad it could bring you some value Monica!! I personally do Free Shipping just because its easier and Etsy says they boost more listings with free shipping. I have seen many stores do really well with paid shipping though so I don't think there is just one right answer.

I’m trying to combine listings right now, and this video was very helpful. 😊 I have a question. Is it possible to add hoodies to an existing sweatshirt listing? If I add SKUs of hoodies to my already published sweatshirt listing, would it work? Or do I have to make a whole new listing to put sweatshirt and hoodie together?

You can just save the listings in Printify as a draft, you do not have to post them. Some people like to post them to Etsy but click "hide in store" but this step is unnecessary.

No the prices only matter in Etsy, you never need to go back and edit the prices within Printify!

Yes for custom listings like group or personalized listings, you need to start on Etsy instead of Printify because Printify doesn't give you the option of listing multiple item types in one listing. Hope this tutorial helps!

Thank you for this video! As someone who purchased and studied the Life Hacker couple course, when it comes to shirt color would you recommend sticking to the few options Jarran suggested for shirts and sweatshirts (I won’t give them away here;) ) or do you choose which color you’ll put a design on by how it looks on that specific shirt and color?

So glad you enjoyed it! I choose mostly just the neutral colors as those have less chance of going out of stock and usually sell very well! But for Bachelorette shirts, sometimes I will do a fun color because its a fun event. So a little bit of both!

Question- for family shirts, do/can you create a live listing for each type of style (adult, kid, toddler, bodysuit etc) and then set up your listing with variations as in the video, making it easier to manually order on the backend and then also have the live listing for people to find? That definitely is a great option as well! If its something you think people would buy individually as well, then go ahead and post them start to finish for each variation, and then copy and paste the SKU from each variation into the listing you start in Etsy. Then everything would be synced and then you also have each variation showing independently in the search results as well. The other option would to create each variation as a "draft" on printify but not list on Etsy. Then use the SKU numbers to put in the Etsy listing so it is synced right from the beginning as well but only for sale in one listing on Etsy. Both good options, just have to find what works best for you! I typically don't sync at all until I get the first sale, then I add the png's as a draft in Printify. That way if it never sells, I only spent a few minutes on it.

HI, thank you for such informative videos! Question for you, the 3rd example you gave, you didn't do the SKU's for each color and size of shirt...is this something that is ok with printify? Hi Cassiy, I love your videos they’re so informative and easy to follow. I’m currently in the process of starting my own shop on Etsy. I’m wanting to sell wall art. I have 6-8 separate designs that I want to group in sets of 3, 2 design options with 1 personalised initial / name in the middle. Is this doable with POD via printify / Printful. I need my customers to be able to choose their animals (2 out of 8) and personalise with a name on another to make a 3 piece set. If not would you kindly suggest a route I should go. I was also thinking of giving customers a choice between if they want them digitally to print themselves or to have it printed e.g idea discussed above. Thank you x

Is the initial shipping plus additional shipping fees charged or is it shipping per item? Glad you are loving the Bella shirts! I use the Gildan 18000 and Gildan 18500 for these items. I have actually never tried any other sweatshirts or hoodies though.

Hi Cassiy, thanks for your wonderful videos that are so helpful. I have a question regarding running a sale on a family group listing for example. You could have a mom shirt at $30.99 and toddler or baby bodysuit at $14.99 or $12.99 in the same listing. If I run a sale on this listing, can I specify discounts or free shipping on certain items? If not, how do you manage the lower priced items in your list, to ensure you still make a profit? Hope that makes sense. Thanks very much

Hi Ayla! Sorry you can’t pick and choose which items have free shipping or are on sale so I’d recommend pricing all the items at the price where you’d make a good profit on each one before putting the sale on. So calculate how much to price each item if you wanted to make $10 - $13 profit after all fees, and then you can decided what type of sale percentage you want to take off each item.

Every decision I make for my business is based off of the research on Etsy! Check out a bunch of bestselling listings and really pay attention to the colors they use for the main image and what other main colors they offer. I have found my best selling colors to be White, Black, Light Gray, Dark Gray, Mauve, Heather Peach and Sand/Natural! I think offering just a few colors like 3-9 works really well. But again don't just take my word for it! Check out what's working on Etsy and this is a super good habit to have when deciding anything for your business!

Hi, Cassiy. Thanks for all your videos. Question: around minute 18, you start talking about adding "variations". I don't seem to have that option. What am I doing wrong? Also, I've seen in some other videos where you "link photos" to certain color shirts. Again, I don't seem to have that option. Did something change recently with Etsy or is it because I'm a total newb? Thanks!!

Another great video, I am curious though if somebody could answer is it better to do your mock UPS on Etsy or directly on printify? Seems that you can't delete them completely from printify but you can only uncheck them before you sink them to etsy

Hi, very simple to understand and lots of details. I do have a question. So for the adding the variations part, do I have to add it in for every listing ( for example, unisex small, bodysuit newborn and pricing for all sizes) or is there a save or automatic part to this step.

You could always copy a different listing each time you want to make a new one instead of having to manually add all the variations each time!

Hi Cassiy, Great video! I'm very new to POD. My questions are regarding shipping rates for the group items. With an order of different adult and baby sizes would there be any shipping savings for the customer (let's say they go through 1 printer)? Or, shirts with design variations within a group listing - what would the shipping rate look like? TY

Etsy offers sellers an option to use "Free Shipping Over $35" which makes things simple especially for group purchases. Just be sure to build in the shipping cost (per your preferred print provider) into your price.

Thank you for this great info! I am selling t-shirts, etc., using Printful as I have watched the Life Hacker Couple videos and purchased their courses which are awesome, too! I see that you are using Printify which I have never tried before. I know Printify has many more products available, but I have read different opinions on the varying quality provided by the different manufacturers and also on how they charge for shipping fees on multiple purchases, like maybe they don't combine shipping at times when they could have. This is just stuff that I've read on the internet, so I'm not sure how valid the info is and was just wondering what your overall experience with Printify is and if you can compare it to Printful, if you have also used Printful before, too. Thanks again for any info and for the great content that you're producing in your videos! Can't wait for the next one! 🙂

So glad you are enjoying my videos!! I use Printify because the prices are cheaper than printful by quite a lot and the quality is also very good. I use mostly Monster Digital company for my shirts and sweatshirts. Printify has 100's of printing companies that they use so if you sell two items from different print providers, then yes you will pay more for shipping but typically the products are less expensive so its still a better deal. Maybe I will do a full review video!

I feel comfortable working with Printify now that I understand how things work much better and that Monster Digital is a good choice for shirts and sweatshirts. I did notice that the prices are better than Printful for sure and I'd love to take advantage of that. And I understand regarding the shipping the way you explained it, too. I'd like to offer a few additional items that Printful may not provide but Printify does, so I won't be scared of the shipping if it comes from 2 different vendors now since the prices are relatively low on the product. I think a full review video would be helpful coming from someone with your experience. It's hard sometimes hunting and pecking for info on the internet when you come across random comments and don't know if the comments are accurate. I'm a long time reseller on eBay and Etsy, but print on demand is a new venue for me, so I appreciate all of your great info! 🙂

@@worldofvintagevibes I am with you, everyone has their own opinion and random commenters could have sold 1 thing ever or 100,000 things ever so it can be hard to know who to listen too!
