Learn how to defend the guard pass by attacking off your opponent's grips using arm drags from seated guard in bjj and no gi grappling. If your opponent is controlling your legs or arms while you are attempting to defend their guard pass attempts, this is a good way to make them think twice by setting up not just defensive reactions but counters to their guard passing. After a arm drags to counter their guard pass (even if you don't succeed with fully taking the back or sweeping them), it will make them more hesitant to commit to their grips which gives you more options to set up your offense.
