I made these rn, absolutely frickin delish! I didnt have butter, so i used oil. I didnt have any eggs either so i didnt add them. Still came out amazing!! I made donuts the first time i didnt know if i would make em again just bc they didnt turn out good again ever. If ur looking for a recipy, this is the one! Also i used wheat flour :)

Hear me out, i accidentally added water instead of milk (the water was cold) and it wasn't a dough form and really watery i still fried them and they were so good tbh the real taste the cinnamon gave me

@@Avery-lc7pv not adding yeast will make something but not this. the yeast is crucial because it makes the dough lighter and when cooked itll fluff up a lot. without it the donuts will be hard and wont take the correct shape, but instant yeast can be found at badically any grocery store. hope this helps :))

This was the perfect texture of donut just how I remember a lady used to make and I would buy everyday at school. While it was a perfect texture, mine was bland tasting, like the dough itself. Personally, they were pretty good and very soft. The only thing that could be better is the flavor of the dough, it was plain and didn’t complement the cinnamon+sugar very well. So i will be making these again since these VERY easy to make and I want to see if I can add something to the recipe to make the dough sweeter. Thank you for sharing the amazing recipe!! 😊🍩

I used buttermilk instead of milk. Idk how I actually had buttermilk instead of milk. Either way, slight psa. Dough definitely doesn't come out the same had to use who knows how much more buttermilk.

instant yeast, riiiight? The ratios are different from active dry, to instant. but instant works better when mixing straight into the dough.

@@CH-nf5bb not necessarily. The shortest way I can explain different yeasts, is that they keep and activate the yeast bacteria differently. The most common are Active Dry and Instant. Instant yeast is better at absorbing water and about 90% of the yeast should be alive. while active dry should be warmed up and dissolved first since it doesn't absorb water as well. And about 70% of active dry yeast is live bacteria. So they have different strengths by weight measurements and there are preferred ways to incorporate them into dough.

I just made them and tasted them plain cuz I don't want the sugar coating. If you're planning to not dip the donuts in the sugar then I recommend you to use 4 tablespoons of sugar instead of 3. I'm planning to dip them in dark choclate tho!

instant yeast, riiiight? The ratios are different from active dry, to instant. but instant works better when mixing straight into the dough.

@@CH-nf5bb not necessarily. The shortest way I can explain different yeasts, is that they keep and activate the yeast bacteria differently. The most common are Active Dry and Instant. Instant yeast is better at absorbing water and about 90% of the yeast should be alive. while active dry should be warmed up and dissolved first since it doesn't absorb water as well. And about 70% of active dry yeast is live bacteria. So they have different strengths by weight measurements and there are preferred ways to incorporate them into dough.

I just made them and tasted them plain cuz I don't want the sugar coating. If you're planning to not dip the donuts in the sugar then I recommend you to use 4 tablespoons of sugar instead of 3. I'm planning to dip them in dark choclate tho!
