Most of my life i thought the game was playing to win. When i live this way there is always a fear of losing. Play, win, or lose. I have a new game. Play, play, play. Make art play. Thats the mantra today 😊

Thanks for bringing the child out in a bunch of anxiety-ridden adults
Art is for the fearless. My entire life I didnt pursue art & didn’t respect artists because somehow I got it into my head that artists are ungrateful (they pursue their passion and that makes them ungrateful instead of those that work hard to get “practical” jobs). I worked hard at the practical things - A’s in school, take classes because it looks good for college, all of that. I lived a miserable 30 years & ended up a total loser working passionless minimum wage jobs. I didnt have skills because I was passionless about everything I’d ever done. Now I’m going for art. I’m more terrified than I’ve ever been in my life. I could end up homeless. What about a.i.? what if I’m not good enough? Art is for the fearless because to become an artist - to be able to shut those scared voices up just to learn, you’ve gotta be fearless.

I’ve been working hard at my “practical” jobs since my teens, and throughout the years I’ve been slowly cultivating my craft in drawing and building up confidence that I’ve never had to begin with in sharing my art online with others and opening myself up to everyone, I chose to become more “selfish” and tend to my creativity in hopes that it could someday become something I could make my own career out of. I really had to start from the ground up. Following my passions may seem selfish to some people if you think about it like that. But the position I’m in, what do I have to lose in trying? Other than just keeping things steady at my regular job… forever… I want to thrive in a creative career, and I have to believe that that’s possible for myself. I have to cheer myself on, and honestly it’s not easy. And don’t even get me started on the process of successfully running your own business as an independent artist!!! IT AINT EASY!!!! I hope you’ve moved past that mindset and are now following your passions
GNONG PROPHETT ✨
Freestyle creativity is arguably the hardest type. It's easier when you have a pre-existing topic in mind, and then create from there without a pre-set template
I just realized that university and the pressure to conform screwed with my curiosity. Your videos have been healing me in so many ways David. Thank you. The timing is just perfect ❤

Dude, i just found your channel like a week ago, and it's completely changed how i approach art, and im having so much more fun making art now... thank you 🤙
Dude you are fulfilling Bob Ross's lane in a way only you can. I love it. Obviously no one can compare you to him or him to you. But that anxiety reducing, vibey curiosity and whimsical lightnesss. Yess.
“i AM a Los Angeles hipster” love, dude. these videos work.
David just reminded me why Art is important.
Wow I really needed this. Thank you weird internet man.
Seeing depressed artists made me want to run the opposite direction, which was contradictory cause making art was my fun outlet!
I think I'm the only one who knows you because of this channel, and I'm grateful to meet your best version.
I am 44 years old artist and your "Why not me" has just influenced me to make my best art series Ever! Thank you!

Message received crystal clear
After watching a bunch of these. I feel like you'd be perfect at writing a children's show that delves into these sorts of perspective shifts. You allow yourself to be playful and fun while overcoming some pretty heavy negative self talk and self destructive patterns that a lot of people, especially artists/creators experience. In a way you already do it here and it's a great way to deliver a message. Thank you for being a positive voice in my brain.

He has a great 90s-00s children’s show host energy here- but I think I kind of love that energy even more when we have a children’s show for adults to learn to be like children again (in a good way)- to feel comfortable in our selves and help us play again. (But this would be great for kids too ik)
I love how honest this is. I feel understood.
watching you cures my depression.. for a few minutes
These videos you’ve been posting are my favourite and the most honest/true inspirational videos I’ve watched in years- So natural. A breath of fresh air. Artist to artist - Thank you ! 🙏🏻
Choe has always been good at FREE-STYLE and being free is the best way.

I hope you watch him in Beef when you have a chance. Great series.
I was literally just outside watering the garden and thinking that I need to flip my life around; that, instead of being constantly depressed from now knowing how to do things that need to be done the official way, that I need to become childlike and curious and just play around. There are a million ways to do the same thing and achieve a result that is satisfactory but that doesn't fit into the mold of "correct" or "by code". Just start doing things to see what I can figure out, like a child again. Then I came indoors, turned on my computer, and this video popped up. Thank you, Life.

at first, i was like: “Wtf am i going to resent that Dave says today?” the fault was on me as there are genuinely so many (non sarcastic here) nuggets of wisdom in the first half of this vid alone. an absolute gem of an upload. much appreciated!

So I'm messing with oil pastels today and I did this *exact practice* this morning and I absolutely loved it. Being mindful in your expressionism is like weird wonderful meditation but at the end you have some art. Thanks again for a cool lesson.
this is the best video I've ever encountered on this weird little world vibe web. feeling blessed, yes, indeed.
Watching your videos is changing my mindset. I feel more alive
Best time to watch david is 1 in the morning then I sleep, dream, wake up then proceed to spit up whatever creative juices that are inside me!
Wow. This video inspired me. For a long time now I haven‘t been drawing due to stress and everytime I try my brain just shuts off and pictures of perfect instagram artists pop up as well as the thought of what I‘m gonna create will be seen by people. I‘ve been restricting my thoughts and creativity in every way but then asking myself why I dont like creating. But as I watched this video I felt like a child with a free mind again. I really felt my heart pumping. I felt a smile across my face waiting to laugh out loud. This feeling is what I’ve been searching for when drawing.
"my wardrobe betrays me" 😅🤣😂 these videos are so funny, freeing and really smart -- "FINE ART! - Thanks, Guys" 😅😆😂- thanks, Dave
That hat is ALL THAT. And I am here for this choe era. All in. ❤️✌🏼

Bro you look happy to me -- because you're doing what you want! You turned my day around. Thank you. 👋😎💗
I recently had a psychosis due to bipolar disorder. Your videos helped me get started with abstract art 💕

Hey David I just wanted to say I love you and you’ve brought some inspiration to my life. Don’t ever change
Never heard of you before until now this video was recommended. Truly fabulous and profound. I want to watch it again with both my 3 year old niece, and my 70 year old mother who paints water colour landscapes. I loved everything in this video. It reassured me that my own sincerely playful practice is not immature or amateur, but richly wonderful. Im looking forward to delving into more of your channel. Thank you for this little happiness injection!

This was amazing. Revealed and realized a lot. Thank you for sharing.
David you are my new favorite KZreadr, I eat this weird artist stuff up and I can't wait to make weird, curious art
I always feel a bit of a blend of blankness and curiosity when creating anything. I get told I should focus but I don't want to put any expectations on what is to come, just curiosity and hope for what will be.
This video is starting my healing journey, I can feel it!
thank you David, thank you for starting this channel, it’s my therapy sessions that i can’t afford, so thank you, i started to believe more in myself and my abilities. thank you David for being you , love you & i wish u the best, good health tu you & your family
Everything worth while goes unnoticed in its process
Mr. G. Prophett: your approach to art and life is keeping me going. I'm making a lot of ugly art these days and sometimes I'm curious and sometimes I'm resentful and sometimes I'm scared and sometimes I'm indifferent to what I'm making. BUT I JUST KEEP GOING ANYWAY. Because you never know what's gonna happen. It's gonna be interesting no matter what I do. Maybe I'll learn something. Maybe I'll forget I ever did it (more likely). But with every painting, a certain freedom and confidence is growing in my chest like a delicate baby bird. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me foster that little spark.
Thank you so much for making videos
Thank you for making these videos Dave! I'm an indie game dev that never really figured out how to create a career with my niche projects. I've been really struggling with motivation and creativity recently trying to start a more traditional career path in the industry to pay the bills. These recent videos have really helped me get through the days!
