    If you spray those pots with UV protectorant you could use that as a strawberry tower & overwinter the plants in the tower as is. The pots look big/deep enough to protect roots & crowns. You could cover it or surround with a wire cage & pack with leaves for insulation. Very clever. Good show.

    Zip ties or plastic are a cheaper alternative to the nuts and bolts and won't rust, to connect the pots together.

    Love it, only thing I'd change is not keeping the bottoms on the pots for drainage

    Oh -- that would work, and the top ones would drain faster into the lower ones. Great idea. Thanks!

    I love the idea. I’m thinking a long piece of fishing line threaded through each connection all the way around with some glue to secure it where you tie the knot would work or a few zip ties would work too. Love the finished tower!

    But how do you take apart these when you need to unpot your plants (when you need to check your plants roots, need to move your plants to different pots/medium, etc)? Or maybe is there a different setup where it's also easy to take apart pots?

  • @DIYOnTheHouse

    There maybe a different way to take them apart. I didn't have any trouble transplanting from them. Let me know if you come up with anything different.

    Leaving the saucers on the pot bottoms allows water to soak the soils and stay wet. Maybe too much?

    The finished product was cute with the flowers. It would be cool if you also tried out the dollar tree seeds. Did your dollar tree have the stackable planters? I hope to find them so I don't need a husband with power tools etc. :-)

    It's good for the 'Ascetics' of Garden Stack pots but it doesn't have the actual function since you still have to 'individually' WATER those pots.

  • @DIYOnTheHouse

    @DIYOnTheHouse

    Yes! It is pretty easy to hit all of the pots with my watering can!

  • @Metqa

    did you mean Aesthetics? Ascetic means a person who practices severe self-discipline and abstention. and I was trying to understand how stacked flower pots promotes Asceticism, like you have to be disciplined to carefully water each pot and therefore take time for introspection and be less wordly?? but I think you mean, it has the nice appearance just like stacked pots? In my area, it gets so hot early in the year, that I would want there to be a water reservoir for each pot, otherwise the hot air would rob all of the moisture in a matter of hours. I guess one function of stacked pots is having flow through water but that feature is dependent upon what the plants environment would be. I struggled to keep hanging pots hydrated until I added a small saucer inside beneath the dirt to catch and hold water for the drying hours between waterings.
