Фильм және анимация
The days are still cold and the nights are long, but, hopefully Spring isn’t too far away. Here is a very simple project you can do now that will get you ready for the foraging season to come.
Enjoy

Bushcraft and bubbles😂 love it. It is great to see people sharing knowledge to the younger generations. There needs to be more of us
What a wonderful educational video. I appreciate you showing up close how to weave. Really easy instructions. I don't have willow but am going to try with saplings of mulberry.
What a wonderful outing with the granddaughters! Girls are definitely in need of survival skills. My father made sure I had lots of survival skills as an autistic female little girl. Blessings to you & your family! Wonderful legacy for us all to learn.
Great video. I’ve never really thought about basket weaving in the woods before, but now I really want to give it a go
Hello. Thank you for teaching me about making baskets. I appreciate your time.
It was great to see that next generation having fun.
Love this video, very informative and great demonstration thank you for sharing and love the bubbles too 😁
Something I've often thought about doing, but never have. Thanks for posting this! Looks fun and something I'll definitely try in the near future.
It’s amazing that skills that were once essential for life are now hobbies to be enjoyed. We don’t have that beautiful hazel here but we have other shoots, and honeysuckle vine is ubiquitous and is commonly used. Now I gotta go weave me a basket!
Bubbles are always an improvement. Good to see the ladies out with you. I hope they will always understand how important time with dad is .
Great project, been threatening to have a go at this for years 👍🏻
Awesome survival skill, the way the bubbles fly off ever so gently, I’ll have to take my daughters out bubble blowing so i can try and weave one of these baskets
Reminds me of when my dad would take me and my little sister for nature walks!
Awesome Job on video and Nicely done on showing how too make the baskets. Always a fun time spending time with grandkids !! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🔪👍👍
Those young ladies stole the show Neil. Great video as always.
Beautiful work! Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you ever so much! I love egg baskets, as they call them here in US. It looks strong, is what i wanted to learn to make! Got me some oak sprouts and honey suckle ready to go!

Neil great project and nice work. I love when you have your daughters out there with ya. Cute girls.
Lots of fun, this one! Good to see Hazel and Ivy out and about with you! Cheers
Good times with grandkids. Some friends immigrated from Russia. Their job was to make this style of baskets for their village. They have passed on, now I know how they did it. Thanks. The sad thing the county just mowed down my willows. Oh well. They'll resprout in the spring.

We have knotted willow trees (knotwilg, Salix Alba) along the water at the edge of most farms. Pruning them for the farmer gives us a bit of money and the twigs necessary. It is a traditional way to get the production materials we need and the trees get a pretty knot at the top of the trunks.

This was great, thank you. “Never perform with children or animals”! I realise what I like about your channel - plenty going on, lots of good ideas, and all with minimum expenditure. A great recipe for fun and learning, rather than spending yet more money on ‘tat’! Thanks again! Les
Brilliant vid,(as always) . I've done similar but used the brambles for the handle and rim too.👍
I need to grow blackberries
Lovely vid mate, great therapy for the coming storm as i empty house to go off-grid in a fortnight. This is the first thing I'll try when i can chill!
One of your best vids yet Neil, hope all is well with you and yours - Spike

Great job
Lovely vid 👏👏👏 Keep them coming !
Your a fun dad.
Will weeping willow branches in the summer work for this? And what is the reccomended length/width of the willow branches

Yes willow will work. They will want to be a metre, at least, but not too thick

Thank you! I’m making great progress with it so far
Very skillful, and a useful basket. However there is no way on Earth a guy like you wanders around the forest, looking like Little Red Riding Hood, gathering edibles with that cute little basket on your arm !
Thank you so much for this video. Exactly what I've been looking for. As you are weaving the two loops together, if the bramble snaps do you carry on or do you remove it and start with a new one?

You just carry on, using the same pattern. I hope that helps. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Off topic, but does anyone know where BCB folding stoves are made? Company is in Wales, fuel is made in UK, but I can’t confirm that the stoves are made in the UK.
Great video. What happened to your Casio tough solar?
